Where to Find Polapup Terra Saddle
Polapup Terra Saddle is not something you find lying around — you craft it, and the recipe is below.
Nothing drops this and no chest holds it — it is a Technology entry at level 55 for 3 points, built at a Pal Gear Workbench rather than an ordinary bench. 155 of the 588 Technology entries sit at level 55 or above, so this is squarely late-game gear. The bill is the plain Polapup Saddle scaled up by a fifth — 72 Fiber, 36 Leather and 36 Paldium Fragment against that one's 60, 30 and 30, 7 Ice Organ against 6, 36,000 work against 30,000 — with one substitution that is the real gate: 30 Plasteel where the level-26 saddle asks for 30 Ingot. Ice Organ is the other line worth planning ahead. Polapup Terra drops none of it; the base Polapup pays 1 to 3 every time you knock one down, so farm the form you are not building for. 31 Pals drop Ice Organ in all, and Frostallion is the fastest of them at a flat 10 a kill.
Using Polapup Terra Saddle Well
Equipping it switches on two separate effects, and both are gated on the saddle being in your inventory — without it Polapup Terra's partner skill does nothing whatsoever. The first is the snow bonus: +80% movement speed uncondensed, then 100, 120, 140 and 160% as you condense, and it is scoped to riding and to nothing else. The invoke condition is mounted-only, so a Polapup Terra assigned to a base work slot or following you as a party member contributes no speed to anything, itself included. The second is a dash you trigger yourself rather than a passive, on a five-second cooldown, and its distance climbs 300, 550, 800, 1,050, 1,300 across the same five ranks. Alongside that the Pal slides on downhill ground, which is what the in-game blurb means about a slow start and a top speed worth respecting — it builds up rather than launching.
Do not build this expecting a fast mount. Polapup Terra's ride sprint is 375, the lowest figure among the 115 rideable Pals we hold, tied only with Polapup and set against a median of 1,050 for ground mounts. Stamina is 120, also below the middle of that table. Off snow it is the slowest thing in the game to sit on, and the percentage is the entire reason to be in the saddle.
Measured against the level-26 Polapup Saddle the snow ladder is identical — the same 80, 100, 120, 140 and 160 for the same 3 Technology points — so the 29 levels between them buy nothing on speed. What they do buy is 50 more dash distance at every rank (300 against 250 uncondensed, 1,300 against 1,250 at four stars), which is a 20% gain on an uncondensed pair and only 4% once both are maxed, plus a Pal that works Mining at 4 where the base form gives Watering at 3, both keeping Cooling 4. If you already ride a Polapup across the snowfields and want to go faster, this is not the upgrade; build it when you want the Terra form as a mining body that can also cross a glacier. Condensing pays unevenly too — the dash more than quadruples while the speed bonus only doubles, so a four-star copy is worth it for the dash rather than the sprint.
The saddle is dead weight without the Pal, and Polapup Terra has one of the narrowest spawn footprints on the map: 26 points, every one of them on Suncrest Islet, nothing anywhere else and no alpha to hunt. The clock makes no difference — the same 26 points are live by day and by night. Breeding is the steadier route and it is a fixed pair rather than a lottery: Polapup with Surfent Terra always produces Polapup Terra, and neither parent is hard to find. Polapup holds 242 spawn points, the densest being Feybreak Shipwreck, The Oculus Gate, Tower in Sight and Azure Cliffs at roughly 11% each, and Surfent Terra holds 590, concentrated around Duneshelter and the Deserted Ash Plateau. Two Polapup Terras also breed true if you want a second one for condensing.
Polapup Terra Saddle — Polapup Terra's Gear
Polapup Terra Saddle is Polapup Terra's own gear — no other Pal can equip it, and Polapup Terra cannot be ridden or put to work in its geared role until you have this in your inventory.
Equipping it turns on Polapup Terra's partner skill, Snowy Mountain Slider.
Polapup Terra is Ice / Ground, which is what decides where it is worth taking — the gear does not change its typing, only what you can do with it.
