Where to Find Starryon Primo Saddle
Starryon Primo Saddle is not something you find lying around — you craft it, and the recipe is below.
Level 77 is a thin rung — four entries, 17 points between them — and this shares it with the Shaolong Saddle at the same 4, so a single playthrough level covers both if you have banked the points. Nothing about the material bill is hard at that level except one line, and it is the funny one: 24 Dark Fragment on a Neutral Pal's saddle. Plain Starryon is Dark and pays 1 to 2 Dark Fragment on death at a flat 100%, which makes the Pal you bred this one from the cleanest place to farm the awkward ingredient. Budget bench time rather than materials — 120,000 work is the 20th heaviest of the game's 139 pieces of Pal gear against a 30,000 median, and 20,000 more than the base Starryon Saddle. Queue it and go do something else.
Using Starryon Primo Saddle Well
Light Dancer is two effects with two completely different conditions, and the speed half is the one the rank ladder belongs to. Its 5% uncondensed, then 9, 13, 18 and 25% across the four condense stars, is not a flat buff — it is paid once for every OTHER Neutral Pal riding along in your party, Starryon Primo itself excluded. A party holds five, so four Neutral companions is the ceiling: +20% at zero stars and +100% at four. Take Starryon Primo out alone, or with four Pals of other elements, and the whole ladder is worth nothing at all. The speed lands on the Pal rather than on you, and it is not gated on being in the saddle — it fires whenever Starryon Primo is the Pal you have deployed, so a four-star build with a Neutral party is also moving that much faster while it fights on the ground beside you.
The jump half does not scale and never has: it is a flat +25% at every condense rank, so nobody should be condensing for it. It is also the strict opposite of the speed half on conditions — riding only, and completely indifferent to what else is in the party. What makes it worth the saddle is that it is nearly unique. Only two Pals in the game carry a mounted jump bonus at all, Starryon and Starryon Primo, and they share the same effect row; every other mount in the game gives you the Pal's own jump and nothing more. If you are building for vertical terrain rather than open ground, that 25% is the actual reason to spend the four points.
Seven other Pals run the identical 5/9/13/18/25 per-partymate ladder, each keyed to a different element: Suzaku wants Fire, Suzaku Aqua wants Water, Beakon wants Electric, Beakon Cryst wants Ice, Rayhound wants Electric, Ghangler counts either Water or Dark, and Ghangler Ignis either Fire or Water. Starryon Primo is the fastest chassis of the set at 1250 sprint against Beakon's 1200, Rayhound's 1150, Suzaku's 1100 and 800 for both Ghanglers, and Neutral is a comfortable element to fill a party with — 36 species carry it, and they include the two fastest ground mounts in the game, Hartalis and Paladius, so the Pals you are already hauling around for their own reasons feed this one. The two Ghanglers draw their tally from a far larger two-element pool, but they are the slowest mounts in the family by 450 and the point is moot. The cost of the build is party diversity: four Neutral slots out of five means going into fights with almost no elemental coverage, which is why this is a travel loadout you swap into rather than a team you keep.
Celesdir is the mount this replaces and the gap is not close. It reads the same Neutral-party condition, but its ladder is 2/3/4/5/6% per companion, so a four-star Celesdir with a full Neutral party is at +24% where Starryon Primo is at +100% — four times the speed bonus off the same team. Celesdir buys back a matching Shot Attack bonus on the same ladder and out-of-combat HP regeneration for itself and you, and its saddle lands 23 technology levels earlier at 54 for the same 4 points, so it holds the slot for most of a playthrough. Once you are at 77 there is no speed argument left for it.
Against plain Starryon this is a straight swap of one restriction for another, not an upgrade. Both forms are the same chassis — 900 running, 1250 sprinting, 230 stamina — and both ladders top out at +100% move speed. Night Dancer pays a flat 50% rising to 100% with no party requirement whatsoever, but only after dark; Light Dancer works around the clock and demands four Neutral companions instead. Starryon's saddle costs the same 4 points 20 technology levels earlier at 57, so the Dark form is what carries you there. Neither is a bad mount to sit on: 230 stamina is well above the 150 median across the 77 ground mounts we rank, and 1250 sprint puts them joint 9th of those 77 before any buff at all — a four-star Neutral party pushes that to roughly 2500, which is faster than Hartalis and Necromus manage unbuffed at 1900.
Starryon Primo Saddle — Starryon Primo's Gear
Starryon Primo Saddle is Starryon Primo's own gear — no other Pal can equip it, and Starryon Primo cannot be ridden or put to work in its geared role until you have this in your inventory.
Equipping it turns on Starryon Primo's partner skill, Light Dancer.
Starryon Primo is Neutral, which is what decides where it is worth taking — the gear does not change its typing, only what you can do with it.
