Needs Starryon Primo Saddle equipped — without that gear the skill does nothing. It unlocks at Technology level 77 for 4 points, so a Pal caught early can sit unusable for a while.

It takes such pride in its glowing mane that the slightest dirt on it ruins its concentration mid-run. Skin oils spoil the coat, so it would rather not be handled much, even by the Pal Tamer it likes best.

How to Get Starryon Primo

Starryon Primo is Neutral, so a Dark attacker takes it down fastest — and a Pal it resists will drag the fight long enough for it to heal or flee.

Wild Starryon Primo spawn between level 74 and 76. That top end fights the sphere much harder, so start low and leave the tougher ones until you need duplicates.

Its capture rate is 1.0, which makes it middle of the road: take the health bar down first and aim for its back.

Every spawn is level 74-76 and its temperament is aggressive, so it opens the fight rather than bolting — which is the useful half of the news, because a Pal with 900 run and a 1250 ride sprint that wanted to flee would simply be gone. It closes on you instead, and the whole encounter happens at whatever range you chose. Bring gear rated for the mid-70s and the catch is a stamina problem, not a chase.

Playing Starryon Primo Well

Gathering 7 is the entire work sheet, and only four Pals in the game reach 7 or better: Jetragon at 8, then this, Hartalis and Frostallion Noct at 7. The other three are effectively unbreedable — one or two recipes apiece, and two of them are rarity-20 legendaries. Starryon Primo is the only rank-7 gatherer with a real breeding pipeline behind it, so it is the one you can produce on demand rather than farm once. The single suitability is a feature at the base: with nothing else on its sheet it cannot be pulled onto hauling or crafting, so it stays on the berry plots instead of drifting to whatever job is shouting loudest.

Do not hunt it where the Dark original lives. The two forms share exactly zero coordinates: Starryon has 178 recorded points and 177 of them are night entries, concentrated around Loess Plains (42%), Wildlands Floodgate (29%) and the Crystallized Great Tree (10%), all on the mainland. The Primo's 63 points sit off that landmass entirely, out past the frame the island map draws, and its day roster and night roster are the same 63 — no time-of-day gate, no dawn window to wait out. Nights on the plains will turn up the Dark form forever and never this one.

Sixty-seven pairings land on it, and all but one are combi-rank arithmetic — they route through Anubis, Astegon and Azurmane, endgame catches you would be spending rather than breeding. The exception is fixed: Starryon with Celesdir gives Starryon Primo every time, ignoring the rank maths. Both halves of that pair are ordinary field catches, which makes it the cheapest route by a wide margin and the reason to keep the Dark Starryon you already caught instead of releasing it. Celesdir is worth holding anyway — Lumbering 7 on its own sheet.
