How to Get Majex
Majex is Dark / Fire, so a Dragon or Water attacker takes it down fastest — and a Pal it resists will drag the fight long enough for it to heal or flee.
Wild Majex spawn between level 35 and 77. Higher-level ones are markedly harder to hold — take a low one first and come back for the rest when you are stacking a condenser.
Its capture rate is 1.0, which makes it exactly average, so weaken it properly and throw from behind for the back-strike bonus.
DragonWaterPlaying Majex Well
Phantasmal Arcana pays out on a condition the stat line does not show. The 15/18/21/24/30% figure is not a flat damage buff — it only fires when the player lands a hit on an enemy that is already Burning, and what it creates is a lingering fire vortex on that enemy that keeps damaging anything in contact with it, scaled off the player's own attack damage. Two consequences: the payout tracks the player's weapon, not Majex's 115 Ranged, and against a target nobody has set alight the skill is doing nothing at all. Majex can light the fuse itself — Spirit Fire at level 7, Flame Wall at 22, Volcanic Rain at 30, Fire Ball at 50 — but a fire weapon or a second Burn source in the party is more reliable, because it frees the player's own shots to be the trigger rather than the ignition. The lingering-area behaviour also means the skill scales with how many enemies are packed around the burning one, which is why it reads as weak on a single boss and strong in a mob.
The 36 spots are not one hunting ground but two, and they are lopsided. Twenty-six of them sit on the World Tree, and 21 of those 26 fall closer to Corroded Hollow than to any other fast travel point on that map — the cluster centre is barely 3,000 units from the pin, so unlocking that one warp puts almost three quarters of the whole spawn table within a short walk. The remaining ten are back on Palpagos, tucked between Isle of Silence and the ground northwest of Ruined Fortress City. Night changes nothing about where to stand: the nocturnal flag moves its behaviour, not its map, and the night table is the same 36 spots.
