Necromus
#199Needs Necromus Saddle equipped — without that gear the skill does nothing. It unlocks at Technology level 61 for 5 points, so a Pal caught early can sit unusable for a while.
It and Paladius were a single being once. Its blackened form is negative emotion given shape, and yet a trace of compassion still sits deep in its eyes.

How to Get Necromus
Necromus is not in the wild spawn tables or any dungeon, so it cannot be found by exploring — it arrives through a fixed encounter or by breeding rather than a hunt.
Necromus is Dark, so a Dragon attacker takes it down fastest — and a Pal it resists will drag the fight long enough for it to heal or flee.
Wild Necromus spawn at level 60, so bring something comfortably above that: an under-levelled team turns a catch into a damage race you lose.
Its capture rate is 1.0, which makes it middle of the road: take the health bar down first and aim for its back.
The arena Necromus is the only one on the map, so a failed capture is not a matter of finding another — you burn the respawn timer instead. Bring your highest-tier spheres and grind the Statue of Power with Lifmunk Effigies first; every catch-rate point applies before you weaken it, and its 130 HP means you get several sphere throws per attempt once it is in the red.
Playing Necromus Well
Because both knights stand on the same spot, the default fight is two level-60 legendaries at once. Necromus is nocturnal and Paladius is not: turn up after dark and Paladius is asleep, which lets you pull the black one on its own. That timing decides your armor too — the dunes swing cold once the sun is down, so a night pull wants cold resistance rather than the heat gear the same location demands at noon.
It is pure Dark, so Dragon damage is the lever — a Dragon mount or ranged Dragon partner cuts the fight down far faster than raw firepower, and leaving your own Dark Pals at base avoids feeding it a resisted matchup. Stock deep on ammunition before leaving: a solo night pull on a 130-HP, 120-defense boss is a long fight, and there is no resupply within reach of the arena.
There is no roaming population — Necromus holds a single fixed arena in the northern desert, and our spawn table puts it on the exact same coordinate as Paladius, so the two knights share one patch of sand. The closest fast-travel statue is The Furthest Flats; the next nearest, Seaward Passage, is more than three times the distance, so unlock the Flats before you commit to the trip. Kill it and the pair is gone for roughly an hour of real time before the arena repopulates at level 60.
