Needs Hartalis Saddle equipped — without that gear the skill does nothing. It unlocks at Technology level 70 for 5 points, so a Pal caught early can sit unusable for a while.

The quiet is unnerving and comforting at once; everyone else has been delivered and nobody remains. A plea for the King of Salvation to carry the speaker into eternal stillness as well is where the ancient text breaks off.

How to Get Hartalis

Hartalis is not found in the wild at all — it is summoned. Place Hartalis Slab on a raid altar at your base and beat it there; the slab is the whole gate, so the fight is a gear check rather than a hunt.

Hartalis is Neutral, so a Dark attacker takes it down fastest — and a Pal it resists will drag the fight long enough for it to heal or flee.

Its capture rate is 1.0, which makes it exactly average, so weaken it properly and throw from behind for the back-strike bonus.

"Does not spawn in the wild" is the whole of the encounter problem, because the only pairing that produces Hartalis is Hartalis with itself — there is no first one to breed from. It is summoned instead. A Hartalis Slab offered at a Summoning Altar calls up a Lv 70 Hartalis, and the harder tier behind it, Hartalis (Ultra) Slab, calls up a Lv 80 version of the same fight. Everything else on this page — the mount speed, the exclusive moves, the Savior passive — is downstream of clearing that altar fight.

Playing Hartalis Well

Its level-up list ends on a trap. Radiant Barrage at 22 and Divine Wing at 30 both hit for 700 on a 30-second cooldown, Sacred Rain at 40 raises that to 800 on the same 30 seconds and is the slot you build around, and then Purifying Light at 50 arrives at 250 power on a 100-second cooldown. Learning it does not cost you anything, but giving it a slot on a four-move bar does — it is a fifth of Sacred Rain's damage for more than three times the wait.

Savior is not a passive you will roll on anything else: Hartalis is the only Pal in the game that carries it. It adds 30% to Neutral attack damage and 30% to Grass, and since Hartalis is itself a Neutral Pal swinging Neutral exclusives, half of that reads directly onto its own bar with no team-building required.

As a ground mount Hartalis is the only one that holds the top figure in both columns at once: 1900 sprint, matched only by Necromus, on 400 stamina, which Necromus does not have at 350. Paladius carries the same 400 stamina but sprints at 1800. In practice that means nothing on land outruns it and nothing runs out of breath later, so long overland crossings are its job even on an account that already has a flier. The saddle unlocks at technology level 70, which is the same band you would be in to survive the summon fight anyway.

Two separate routes reach the slab, and only one of them is a farm. Hartalis Slab Fragment comes out of Hard expeditions on the 60-minute timer — Celestial Sakura Cavern, Dark Cave of Feybreak, Sunreach Isle and World Tree Subterranean City Ruins each return 1-2 at roughly a one-in-three rate — so a rotation of long expeditions assembles a slab on its own while you play. The shortcut is the technology-book stands inside Sunreach Skies caverns, which can hand over a finished Hartalis Slab outright at about the same one-in-three chance, no fragments involved.

The raid pays out on a different table from the field drops listed above, and the payout is what makes the fight repeatable rather than one-and-done. The Lv 70 clear guarantees 4-7 Ancient Civilization Core, 4-6 Training Crystal, a Skill Fruit: Holy Burst, and — the part that matters — a Hartalis (Ultra) Slab, so the first normal clear pays for the Ultra fight without another expedition rotation. The Lv 70 also lets you pick one Applied Handbook I from Kindling, Watering or Planting.

The Lv 80 Ultra fight drops its own Ultra Slab again on every clear, which closes the loop: once you are through it the first time it funds itself indefinitely. Its guaranteed table is 10 Ancient Civilization Core, 10 Training Crystal, two Applied Handbooks of your chosen type, and Crown of Salvation, which exists nowhere else in the game.
