How to Get Relaxaurus
Relaxaurus is one of the Pals you can simply buy: a Pal merchant sells it at level 35–40, which skips the hunt when you want one at a known level. Show the merchants on the map →
Relaxaurus is Dragon / Water, so an Ice or Electric attacker takes it down fastest — and a Pal it resists will drag the fight long enough for it to heal or flee.
Wild Relaxaurus spawn between level 30 and 80. The higher end resists spheres noticeably harder, so it is worth hunting the low-level spawns for your first catch and saving the high ones for a condenser stack.
Its capture rate is 1.0, which makes it exactly average, so weaken it properly and throw from behind for the back-strike bonus.
There is a second Relaxaurus the wild spawn table does not cover: a Predator Relaxaurus, fixed at level 30. Its spawn slot is weighted 30 against a 70 empty roll, so the point sits bare more often than not — expect to come back rather than to find it first try. Catching it is also harder than catching a wild one: its capture correction is 0.7 where an ordinary Relaxaurus sits at a flat 1.0, so the same sphere at the same health sticks noticeably less often. Save the higher-tier spheres for it.
IceElectricGrassPlaying Relaxaurus Well
The Predator Relaxaurus fights nothing like the wild one. It runs a boss health gauge and a 2.0 enemy HP multiplier on top of a higher 144 base HP, so the bar is roughly double what its size suggests — but the trade is real: 70 defense against the wild pal's 110, and 100 ranged attack against 115. It soaks far more than it hits back. Bring sustained damage rather than burst, keep out of melee range, and treat the fight as a long one you are never in danger of losing quickly.
Killing the Predator Relaxaurus pays out on a table of its own, not the relic-and-oil list the wild one drops: 1-2 Predator Core and 1-2 Giant Pal Soul, both at 100%. That second one is the reason to bother — Giant Pal Souls feed the Statue of Power, and a guaranteed pair per kill is a faster source than most. Do not expect Ruby or High Quality Pal Oil off it; both sit on the predator table at a 0% rate and never actually roll.
