How to Get Reptyro Cryst
Reptyro Cryst is Ice / Ground, so a Fire or Grass attacker takes it down fastest — and a Pal it resists will drag the fight long enough for it to heal or flee.
Wild Reptyro Cryst spawn between level 42 and 67. That top end fights the sphere much harder, so start low and leave the tougher ones until you need duplicates.
Its capture rate is 1.0, which makes it middle of the road: take the health bar down first and aim for its back.
FireGrassPlaying Reptyro Cryst Well
Bring Fire, and bring Grass as the backup. Its Ice half folds to Fire damage and its Ground half folds to Grass, so either element gets through, while Ice, Electric, Ground and Dragon attacks all land soft against it — a Dragon party that clears most of the Astral Mountains will grind here. Its 130 Defense is the highest number on its sheet and it fights at close range on the ground, so a ranged Fire attacker kiting it around the cavern takes almost nothing back.
Run it in the party alongside plain Reptyro when you go mining. Ice-Loving Beast and Ore-Loving Beast are two separate partner skills, so the game applies both ore-weight reductions at once — the no-stacking clause in the description only blocks a second copy of the same skill, which is why two Reptyro Cryst in the party do nothing extra. With both riding along at a decent rank, a full circuit of ore and coal nodes stops being what ends the trip; you come home for the pickaxe durability instead of the weight bar.
It is one of the few Pals that carries Mining 5 and Cooling 5 on the same sheet, which makes it a two-slot hire in one body: it swings at the ore pile and keeps a Cooler Box or refrigerator running without a second cold Pal on the roster. Bio grade 5 means a large hunger pool with a normal drain rate, so it can hold a mining shift, but keep a well-stocked feed box nearby — a Pal this size going hungry mid-shift stalls the ore line.
Reptyro × Foxcicle is the pairing to remember. Reptyro Cryst has dozens of valid parent combinations, but nearly all of them are generic power-average results you would have to work out backwards; this one is the direct route, and both parents are pals you can catch on your own — Reptyro around the volcano, Foxcicle up in the snowfields. Breeding also beats catching if you want the ride: hatchlings arrive at level 1 with room to condense, whereas a wild catch in the 42-67 band has already burned most of its stat rolls.
