Using Hexolite Well

The recipe list below only counts direct Hexolite costs. The endgame guns are the real drain and they are unlocked between Technology 59 and 64: Overheat Rifle 135, Energy Shotgun 130, Plasma Cannon 130, Megaboost Gun 120, Laser Gatling Gun 100.

Base structures eat Hexolite too and none of them appear in a weapon or armor list: Large-Scale Electric Egg Incubator 100, Advanced Workshop 50, Advanced Sphere Assembly Line 50, Advanced Medicine Workbench 50, Advanced Chest 20. Exotic Sphere costs 1 Hexolite per sphere, so a stack of 20 is another 20 bars off the pile.

Thermal Core is itself made from 2 Hexolite, and most of the plasma-tier gear asks for cores on top of raw bars, so the sticker price understates the true cost. Overheat Rifle is really 145 (135 + 5 cores), Energy Shotgun 140, Plasma Cannon 138, Laser Gatling Gun 106, Advanced Shield 60, Heat Resistant Hexolite Armor 54. Ammo is worse per unit: a Plasma Cartridge is 4 Hexolite once its core is paid for, Rocket Ammo 5, Overheat Rifle Ammo 3.

Paladius, Necromus and Neptilius each hand over 10 Hexolite per kill at a guaranteed rate, which is the only source that does not consume Chromite or Hexolite Quartz. Farming the three of them on repeat is worth more than a furnace run when you are short on Chromite rather than short on time.
