Energy Shotgun

Weapon · WeaponShotgun4

A shotgun loaded with energy rounds. It cycles fast, and its close-range output is beyond anything conventional.

Energy Shotgun is 13th of 40 shotguns by attack, at 482 against the 1,400 of Prototype Shotgun.

No recipe takes it as an ingredient. Whatever you build is the finished article, so there is no reason to hoard spares.

At 20 weight each it eats carry capacity fast, so bring a mount or park a chest nearby. At 4,132,920 gold it is worth real money to a merchant.

Where to Find Energy Shotgun

The recipe is not on the Technology tree — it is locked behind a schematic you have to find first. The best single source is sea base enemy camp boss stashes in the Sakurajima at 0.7% per container, and the table below lists every tier and where each one drops.

Four separate lines feed you Energy Shotgun Schematic 4, and none of them is reliable on its own. The alpha Azurmane hands it over on 3% of kills, so plan on a long rotation of respawns rather than one lucky trip. Boss stashes in the Sakurajima sea-base camps are the best passive odds at roughly 0.72%, tier-5 treasure map digs sit just under that at 0.595%, and Feybreak fishing coughs one up about once in a thousand casts. Run the alpha as your main line and treat the rest as things you were doing anyway.

If the drops refuse to cooperate, the Arena Shop sells the legendary schematic outright for 1500 Battle Tickets — a fixed, grind-free price with no roll attached. Arena runs pay tickets whether you win the schematic race or not, so a player who dislikes farming alphas can bank tickets toward a guaranteed copy while still fusing spare Energy Shotgun Schematic 3 on the side.

Using Energy Shotgun Well

Owning the schematic is not optional the way it is for lower tiers: the recipe only appears while the blueprint sits in your inventory, so stashing it in a base chest silently removes the legendary from your Advanced Weapon Assembly Line menu. Tech level 63 unlocks the common Energy Shotgun and its ammo line; the legendary rides on top of that unlock and needs the paper in your bag.

Feeds on Energy Shotgun Ammo, which is its own dedicated round — no other shotgun ammo loads it. A craft run at the Advanced Weapon Assembly Line turns 1 Bio Battery and 2 Hexolite into 10 rounds, so a single batch does not even top off the 14-round magazine. Queue ammo in bulk before a raid, not between fights.

The legendary schematic can be fused rather than farmed: 5 copies of the epic Energy Shotgun Schematic 3 combine into 1 Energy Shotgun Schematic 4, and the same 5-to-1 step exists at every rarity below it. Duplicate Energy Shotgun schematics from chests and bosses are never dead weight — bank them and climb the ladder.

Durability is the real jump, not just the damage. The common Energy Shotgun breaks down after 300 points of use while this one carries 1200 — four full commons' worth of field time from a single weapon. Combined with the 14-round magazine over the common's 10, one legendary replaces a rucksack of spares on long Feybreak expeditions and cuts the repair-bench trips that eat a raid window.

This build order carries 32 times the crafting work of the common Energy Shotgun, the heaviest step in the line. Staff the bench with your highest Handiwork pals and expect the run to occupy the assembly line for a long stretch; start it before a mining or ore trip rather than waiting on it.

Every Tier of Energy Shotgun

The same piece exists at 5 rarities, and the gap is not cosmetic: attack runs 402 to 482, a 1.2x swing. Which one you end up with is decided by the rarity of the schematic you built from, not by the recipe — so a legendary copy of this is worth more than the next item up built from a common one.

Energy Shotgun fires Energy Shotgun Ammo, and nothing else — running dry mid-fight is the usual way this weapon lets you down, so keep the recipe unlocked before you rely on it.

Schematics That Unlock Energy Shotgun

The Technology tree hands you the plain Energy Shotgun at level 63 for 5 Technology points, but nothing above that base version — the rarer builds are schematic-only. One schematic grants the recipe, and they are world loot — chests, boss Pals and the late-game pools — rather than anything you research. Higher-rarity copies of the same schematic raise the quality of what you end up crafting.

Fastest route. The fastest route is sea base enemy camp boss stashes in the Sakurajima, and the reason is the ladder rather than the top rung: that pool stocks every tier, so the common copies it hands you fuse upward into the one you want. Counting them, a top-tier Energy Shotgun schematic works out at roughly 23 containers against the 33 the 4★ drop rate alone suggests. Spare low tiers are progress, not clutter. Schematics fuse five-to-one, so a lower tier with better odds can beat the top tier outright. Counts are containers of that source, not time.

Alternatives and Upgrades

Step up from here and you get Beam Scatter at 508 attack; step down and it is Energy Shotgun at 462. Weigh the jump against what the next tier costs you before committing the resources.
