Pump-Action Shotgun

Weapon · WeaponShotgun4

Deep shell capacity paired with heavy hitting power, giving it excellent damage per second up close.

Pump-Action Shotgun is 21st of 40 shotguns by attack, at 385 against the 1,400 of Prototype Shotgun.

This is where the crafting chain ends — nothing downstream consumes it, so a stockpile earns you nothing.

At 20 weight each it eats carry capacity fast, so bring a mount or park a chest nearby. At 128,640 gold it is worth real money to a merchant.

Pump-Action Shotgun Crafting Recipe

Work: 3840000

Crafting it takes 124 materials across 4 types.

Where to Find Pump-Action Shotgun

The recipe is not on the Technology tree — it is locked behind a schematic you have to find first. The best single source is crates on the oil rigs at 1.8% per container, and the table below lists every tier and where each one drops.

Using Pump-Action Shotgun Well

The round it chambers is the plain Shotgun Shell (Shotgun Shell), the same one the common model takes, so upgrading to the legendary rank costs you nothing in logistics — the shells come off a Weapon Workbench and every stack you already stockpiled still feeds it. That matters more here than on the rest of the shell-fed shotguns, because twelve in the tube is what this gun is for: the Double-Barreled hits marginally harder at 399 attack but empties in two, and the Makeshift fires once before reloading. Per magazine the Pump-Action puts out 4,620 damage against 798 and 376 from those two, and the Semi-Auto's fourteen shells only reach 3,948 because each one lands for 282. Nothing else running on ordinary shells stays on target as long.

Two separate gates stand between you and the recipe. The Pump-Action Shotgun technology is a level 43 unlock costing 4 technology points, and clearing it gives you the common gun only — this rank additionally needs its schematic sitting in your inventory. Once both are satisfied the recipe is offered by the entire bench ladder, from the Weapon Assembly Line through the Weapon Assembly Line II, the Advanced Weapon Assembly Line and the Ancient Workbench, so nothing forces you to keep an early bench footprint in the base for it.

Budget the bench time before you commit the materials. This rank carries thirty-two times the crafting work of the common shotgun and double the rank directly beneath it — half again what a legendary Double-Barreled costs to assemble, and 800 durability means it will come back for repairs long before the shell supply runs out. Put your best Handiwork Pals on the queue, and start the 4 Ancient Civilization Parts hunt early: those, not the 60 Refined Ingot, are what will hold the build up.

Every Tier of Pump-Action Shotgun

The same piece exists at 5 rarities, and the gap is not cosmetic: attack runs 220 to 385, a 1.8x swing. Which one you end up with is decided by the rarity of the schematic you built from, not by the recipe — so a legendary copy of this is worth more than the next item up built from a common one.

Pump-Action Shotgun fires Shotgun Shell, and nothing else — running dry mid-fight is the usual way this weapon lets you down, so keep the recipe unlocked before you rely on it.

Schematics That Unlock Pump-Action Shotgun

The Technology tree hands you the plain Pump-Action Shotgun at level 43 for 4 Technology points, but nothing above that base version — the rarer builds are schematic-only. One schematic grants the recipe, and they are world loot — chests, boss Pals and the late-game pools — rather than anything you research. Higher-rarity copies of the same schematic raise the quality of what you end up crafting.

Fastest route. Two routes to the top-tier Pump-Action Shotgun schematic, and they are not measured in the same thing: about 33 kills hunting it directly from suzaku (alpha), or roughly 71 containers farming the 3★ copy from sea base enemy camp boss stashes in the Desert and fusing five. Which is faster depends on how long one of each takes you. Schematics fuse five-to-one, so a lower tier with better odds can beat the top tier outright. Counts are containers of that source, not time.

Alternatives and Upgrades

Step up from here and you get Double-Barreled Shotgun at 399 attack; step down and it is Makeshift Shotgun at 376. How far apart those two sit tells you whether to spend now or keep what you have.
