How to Get Wumpo
Wumpo is one of the Pals you can simply buy: a Pal merchant sells it at level 50–55, which skips the hunt when you want one at a known level. Show the merchants on the map →
Wumpo is Ice, so a Fire attacker takes it down fastest — and a Pal it resists will drag the fight long enough for it to heal or flee.
Wild Wumpo spawn between level 41 and 80. The higher end resists spheres noticeably harder, so it is worth hunting the low-level spawns for your first catch and saving the high ones for a condenser stack.
Its capture rate is 1.0, which makes it middle of the road: take the health bar down first and aim for its back.
FirePlaying Wumpo Well
Pure Ice, so Fire attackers cut its effective HP down fast — bring something like Blazehowl or Jormuntide Ignis rather than trading ice for ice. Its own kit is almost entirely Ice and dragon-flavoured beams, so a Fire pal also resists most of what it throws back. Wild ones sit between level 41 and 80, and the Astral Mountains Cavern alpha wants a level 45 party before you commit spheres.
Snow Bowling is its exclusive move: it rolls a snowball forward as it advances and detonates it once the ball is big enough. That wind-up means it whiffs on anything that sidesteps, so for real damage lean on Diamond Rain or Blizzard Spike instead — both cover ground and hit a group, which is what you actually want out of a large Ice pal.
Riding it needs the Wumpo Saddle, unlocked at technology level 45 for 4 points, then crafted from 50 Fiber, 40 Paldium Fragment, 30 Leather, 20 Ice Organ and 10 Refined Ingot. The Ice Organs come off Wumpo itself at 2-3 per kill, so a few hunts in the snowfields pay for the saddle you are hunting them to build.
At a base it earns its slot on Transporting 6 backed by Lumbering 5 and Cooling 5 — one pal covering hauling, wood and the refrigerator instead of three. Its Handiwork 3 is the weak leg, so pair it with a dedicated crafter rather than expecting it to carry a workbench.

Where to Find Wumpo
Wumpo spawn locations in the wild — every marked spot is a known spawn area.
Nearly all of them sit around Land of Absolute Zero — 81.1% of the known spots. They come in groups of up to 3, so plan sphere stock for more than one.
Wumpo in Base Raids
Wumpo shows up in 2 raid groups that attack your base, at level 23–26 around the Snowfields. Worth knowing before you settle there — build your defences around what actually turns up.
Dungeons Wumpo Appears In
Besides its wild habitat, Wumpo turns up inside one cavern, and takes the boss chamber in one of them. Caverns are the reliable option when the overworld roll is not going your way.
