Where to Find Ice Radiant Gem
17 Pals drop Ice Radiant Gem when defeated or captured, which is usually the faster route if you are already out hunting — the drop list below is sorted by how reliably each one gives it up.
It also shows up as world loot — recycling Decayed Ancient Relics, recycling Dormant Ancient Relics and recycling Gorgeous Ancient Relics, and 6 more pools besides, usually 1–3 at a time. Higher-grade chests carry the better rolls, so the ones guarded by a camp are usually worth the detour.
Sending a team on the World Tree Subterrenean City Ruins and The World Tree's Forbidden Area expeditions brings some back without you leaving base.
The recycling entries only open up late: the Ancient Relic Recycler is a level 74 technology, and it needs a powered base with a Handiwork Pal assigned to actually process relics. Before that tech, the World Tree chests, fishing spots and Ice Pals themselves are your only sources.

Using Ice Radiant Gem Well
The gems are only half the bill for an Ice Awakening Crystal: one crystal also eats 10x World Tree Holy Water on top of the 50 gems, so stockpile holy water in parallel or you will finish the farm and still be unable to craft.
Killing Ice Pals is far and away the fastest route. The big drops pay out 10-20 gems every time, so 3-5 kills covers a whole crystal, while relic recycling tops out near a 4% roll for a single gem. Treat the recycler as a place to dump relics you have already looted, never as the plan.
