How to Get Killamari
Killamari can be fished up rather than fought — 4 wild spots of the small kind hold it, at level 20–34, and only at night. The alpha turns up on the bigger spots, so a rod can hand you one without a fight. Once you have a Fishing Pond at base it shows up there too — 9.5% per catch in the small pool, which is the hands-off way to farm one.
Killamari is Dark / Water, so a Dragon or Electric attacker takes it down fastest — and a Pal it resists will drag the fight long enough for it to heal or flee.
Wild Killamari spawn between level 5 and 62. Higher-level ones are markedly harder to hold — take a low one first and come back for the rest when you are stacking a condenser.
Its capture rate is 1.0, which makes it dead average, which makes the back-strike bonus worth lining up before you throw.

The glide boost is a ladder, not a fixed number: it switches on at condense rank 2 and climbs S to M to L to XL at rank 5, and rank 1 grants no boost tier at all. That matters here more than on most Pals because Killamari is one of the easiest duplicates in the game to farm - 361 night spawn spots and a capture rate that never fights you - so the Pal handing you the best glider in your bag is also the one you can realistically push to XL. Farm the night pocket once with spare spheres rather than catching a single one and wondering why gliding feels unchanged.
Fried Squid is a glider skill, not a fight or base skill. Keep Killamari in the active party with Killamari's Gloves worn, and the glider already in your slot starts floating gently instead of sinking - you hold the air far longer off the same jump, which turns a cliff you would have walked around into a straight line. It does nothing at all if the gloves come off, and nothing extra for combat, so this is a Pal you swap into the sixth slot for the trip and swap out at the fight.
The gloves are the cheapest partner-skill gear on the island for what they do: 5 Cloth, 5 Venom Gland and 10 Paldium Fragment, and they never appear on the technology tree, so they cost no technology points and unlock off the Pal itself. Killamari drops 2-4 Venom Glands every time, so the second one you kill has already paid for its own gloves - catch one, kill one, and you are gliding better before you have spent a point on anything.
Killamari Primo carries the same glide effect under its own name and its own pair of gloves, so if you already have the subspecies you do not need this one for the skill. Condensing is per Paldeck entry, though, so their duplicates are not interchangeable - pick the one you can farm and pour every copy into that ladder.

Where to Find Killamari
Killamari spawn locations in the wild — every marked spot is a known spawn area.
Most of them are around Deserted Ash Plateau (24.1% of known spots), with smaller pockets near Scorched Ashland. They come in groups of up to 2, so plan sphere stock for more than one.
Dungeons Killamari Appears In
Besides its wild habitat, Killamari turns up inside 2 caverns, and takes the boss chamber in 2 of them. Caverns are the reliable option when the overworld roll is not going your way.
the boss chamber fight is level 10–13, and ordinary cavern spawns run level 5–10.
