Giga Shield
Armor · Shield1★Odd Paldium-based tech that mends itself after going a while without being struck, with modifications that raise its effectiveness further.
Giga Shield is an early shield: 6th of 8 by shield strength, so treat it as a stepping stone, at 540 against the 2,200 of Ancient Shield.
Nothing is crafted from it — it is an end product, so anything you make is meant to be used rather than banked as a component.
Details
It does not stack, so every spare copy costs an inventory slot. At 21,960 gold it is worth real money to a merchant.
Giga Shield Crafting Recipe
Crafting it takes 80 materials across 3 types, and the bottleneck is almost always the 50× requirement — line that up first and the rest follows.
Where to Find Giga Shield
Giga Shield is not something you find lying around — you craft it, and the recipe is below.
Using Giga Shield Well
The jump from the Mega Shield (Mega Shield) is the biggest proportional step in the whole shield line: 260 absorbed damage becomes 540, and durability goes 1500 to 2250. Weight stays at 5 — every shield in the game, from Common up to Ancient, weighs exactly 5 — so a tier upgrade never costs you a single point of carry capacity. There is no reason to keep an older shield equipped once the newer one is built.
Ancient Civilization Parts are the real price. Paldium Fragment and Ingot are base production you already run, but the 10 Ancient Civilization Parts come from alphas and dungeon chests and compete directly with saddles and tower-tier weapons. The Mega, Giga and Hyper shields all take the same three ingredients — 5, 10 and 20 Parts respectively — so the ladder is one continuous drain on the same stock.
It has to carry you a long way. The tech unlocks at level 29 and the next rung, the Hyper Shield (Hyper Shield), does not appear until level 43 — a 14-level stretch, the longest gap anywhere in the shield ladder. That covers most of the mid-game tower fights, so build it the moment the tech is bought rather than treating it as a stopgap.
Queue it early in a work session. The craft is 40,000 work units, four times what the Mega Shield asks and the heaviest single item most bases are producing at level 29. Put your best Handiwork Pals on the line before you start it, and expect to walk away and do something else while it finishes.
Every Tier of Common Shield
The same piece exists at 6 rarities, and the gap is not cosmetic: durability runs 1000 to 22000, a 22x swing. Which one you end up with is decided by the rarity of the schematic you built from, not by the recipe — so a legendary copy of this is worth more than the next item up built from a common one.
| Rarity | Item | Durability |
|---|---|---|
| 0★ | Common Shield | 1000 |
| 0★ | Mega Shield | 1500 |
| 1★ | Giga Shield (this one) | 2250 |
| 2★ | Hyper Shield | 3500 |
| 3★ | Ultra Shield | 5000 |
| 4★ | Ancient Shield | 22000 |
Alternatives and Upgrades
Step up from here and you get Hyper Shield at 1,045 shield strength; step down and it is Mega Shield at 260. That gap is the honest measure of whether an upgrade is worth the materials right now.
