Using Palumba Saddle Well
Samba Step, the partner skill this saddle switches on, is a movement-speed buff applied to Palumba itself while you ride it. Its strength is tied to the Pal's condensation rank, not to the saddle: 155 at base, then 175, 195, 215 and 240 at four stars.
The recipe sits at Technology level 35 and costs 3 technology points, which puts it well after the early ground mounts — budget the points before spending them on structures in the same tier if you want a fast overland ride at that stage.
There is no upgraded version of this saddle, so the only way to make Palumba faster after crafting it is condensation — taking one from base to four stars is worth about 55% more ride speed. Keep spare Palumba rather than releasing them if a ground mount is your main way of crossing the map.
