Stone Spear
Weapon · WeaponMelee0★A melee weapon with enough reach to attack from outside arm's length.
Stone Spear is an early melee weapon: 71st of 79 by attack, so treat it as a stepping stone, at 35 against the 2,400 of Laser Sword.
It feeds no other recipe, which makes it a terminal item: craft what you will actually carry and stop there.
Details
At 10 weight each it eats carry capacity fast, so bring a mount or park a chest nearby.
Stone Spear Crafting Recipe
Crafting it takes 24 materials across 2 types, and the bottleneck is almost always the 18× requirement — line that up first and the rest follows.
Where to Find Stone Spear
Stone Spear is not something you find lying around — you craft it, and the recipe is below.
Using Stone Spear Well
Every crafting bench in the game accepts this recipe, starting with the Primitive Workbench you build in the first hour — unlocking the technology is the only requirement, so there is no station to upgrade before you can make one.
The craft job is 1,000 work units against 10,000 for Metal Spear, so a bench turns out ten Stone Spears in the time it takes to finish one Metal Spear. Queue two or three and swap on the fly rather than nursing durability on a single one.
Treat it as the bridge weapon until copper smelting comes online: Metal Spear more than doubles the damage at 80 for Wood x27, Stone x12 and CopperIngot x10, and Refined Metal Spear jumps to 310. Once either is available, wood and stone are better spent on base materials than on more Stone Spears.
Every Tier of Metal Spear
The same piece exists at 3 rarities, and the gap is not cosmetic: attack runs 80 to 35, a 0.4x swing. Which one you end up with is decided by the rarity of the schematic you built from, not by the recipe — so a legendary copy of this is worth more than the next item up built from a common one.
| Rarity | Item | Attack | Durability |
|---|---|---|---|
| 0★ | Metal Spear | 80 | 250 |
| 0★ | Refined Metal Spear | 310 | 300 |
| 0★ | Stone Spear (this one) | 35 | 200 |
Alternatives and Upgrades
Step up from here and you get Nightglow at 50 attack; step down and it is Metal Axe at 30. The size of that step is what decides whether the crafting bill is justified yet.
