Where to Find Grilled Kelpsea
Grilled Kelpsea is not something you find lying around — you craft it, and the recipe is below.
Using Grilled Kelpsea Well
A plain Campfire handles this one — there is no pot or kitchen requirement, so it is available from your first night in the wild. Later cookers (Cooking Pot, Electric Kitchen, the stone oven and the Ancient Kitchen) take the same recipe, they just finish it faster with a Kindling Pal on the job.
Grilling is a straight gain on the raw fish and costs nothing but heat: Raw Kelpsea restores 36 nutrition and sells for 140, the cooked version restores 50 and sells for 170. Fish meat also spoils, so anything you are not eating in the next few minutes is better off on the fire.
The cook is only 1,600 work — roughly a twentieth of what a multi-ingredient dish like Fried Kelpsea asks for. A single low-level Kindling Pal clears a stack of these while a proper recipe is still on its first serving, which is why it stays the default way to burn through a Kelpsea haul.
Once you have Flour, an Egg and Pal Oil coming in, stop grilling and bank the raw fish instead. The same one Raw Kelpsea turned into Fried Kelpsea is 108 nutrition, 14 SAN and 1,070 gold against 50 nutrition, 1 SAN and 170 gold here — the fish is worth six times as much in the better pan.
