Using Seafood Pasta Well
The buff is total explosion immunity, not a reduction: explosion resistance is set to 100 for 600 seconds, so for ten real minutes grenades, rocket launchers, missile turrets and self-detonating enemies deal you nothing. Eat it at the door of a raid or a Syndicate base rather than mid-fight — the timer runs from the bite, and food only counts once your hunger bar has room for it.
The earliest station that can cook it is the Cooking Pot, unlocked at Technology level 17 for 2 points; the Electric Kitchen (level 41), Large-Scale Stone Oven (level 49) and Ancient Kitchen (level 70) all take the same recipe. Budget the time — one plate is a 32,000 work job, close to three times what a batch of Fried Gloopie Balls costs, so start the queue well before you need the stack.
Three Gloopie Tentacles per plate puts it in direct competition with Fried Gloopie Balls, which takes only two and hands back 30 minutes of bonus experience instead. Cook the pasta for a specific explosive fight and spend leftover tentacles on the EXP dish; a tentacle turned into pasta you never eat is a wasted farm run.
Tentacles come off Gloopie and its Primo variant at a guaranteed 1-2 per kill, so nine tentacles is roughly four or five Gloopie. If you would rather not hunt, the Caravan Shop stocks them at 200 Gold each, and the Very Hard Ancient Feybreak Ruins expedition returns 10-20 per 120-minute run — enough for three plates from a single dispatch.
Alternatives and Upgrades
Nothing in the cooked dish class beats it on hunger restored. The next one down is Dumud Chowder at 170, so if you are still using that, this is the upgrade worth the materials.
