Using Baked Berries Well
Any cooking station will take the recipe: the Campfire, the Cooking Pot, the Electric Kitchen, the Large-Scale Stone Oven and the Ancient Kitchen all list it. The Campfire unlocks at Technology level 2, so this is available within the first few minutes of a save and never stops being craftable as you upgrade.
Baking is free value. One Red Berries restores 15 hunger raw; put it over a fire and the same single berry comes back as 21 hunger plus 1 SAN, with no second ingredient consumed. There is no reason to eat berries raw or hand them to a Pal uncooked once a Campfire is standing.
The craft is 500 work per berry — small enough that a base Pal with any Kindling can chew through a full stack while you are away. Park berries and a lit Campfire near your Berry Plantation and the whole loop runs itself.
Trading Baked Berries with NPCs
An NPC will take Baked Berries as a hand-in and pay 1 Gold Coin, 1 Cloth, 1 Fire Arrow — worth knowing before you sell a stack to a merchant for gold.
Alternatives and Upgrades
