Pancake
Food · FoodDishVegetable0★Flour and Milk beaten together and baked; for a while afterward, sanity drains more slowly the longer the effect runs.
Pancake is an early cooked dish: 15th of 20 by hunger restored, so treat it as a stepping stone, at 42 against the 738 of Special Cake.
Nothing is crafted from it — it is an end product, so anything you make is meant to be used rather than banked as a component.

It weighs almost nothing and stacks to 9,999, so there is no reason not to carry a full stack.
Where to Find Pancake
Pancake is not something you find lying around — you craft it, and the recipe is below.
Using Pancake Well
Cooked at a Cooking Pot, which unlocks at Technology level 17. Every later cooking station makes it too — Electric Kitchen (41), Large-Scale Stone Oven (49) and Ancient Kitchen (70) — so the recipe never has to be relearned as the base grows.
Both ingredients are base-produced well before the Cooking Pot exists: Flour comes out of a Mill (level 15) fed by a Wheat Plantation, and Milk comes off a Ranch (level 5) with a milk-producing pal assigned. A single wheat-and-ranch setup keeps Pancakes cooking indefinitely with nothing foraged or bought.
Eating one slows sanity loss by 25% for 10 minutes. That is a percentage cut to the drain rate, not a sanity refill — it stretches how long a work shift or an expedition lasts before the meter bottoms out, on top of the 5 sanity the item itself restores.
25% is the strongest sanity resistance reachable anywhere near level 17, and the dishes that beat it — Spring Rolls, Mushroom Quiche and Fried Kelpsea at 50% — sit deep in the late tech tree. French Fries matches the 25% but needs a Potato Plantation at level 29. That makes Pancake the practical sanity food for most of a playthrough, and worth batch-cooking before long cave or dungeon trips.
Trading Pancake with NPCs
An NPC will take Pancake as a hand-in and pay 18 Giga Sphere — worth knowing before you sell a stack to a merchant for gold.
Alternatives and Upgrades
Step up from here and you get Jam-Filled Bun at 51 hunger restored; step down and it is Baked Potato at 40. That gap is the honest measure of whether an upgrade is worth the materials right now.
