Alluring Bait

Consume · ConsumeFishingBait3

Bait that draws Pals in. This refined version widens the bar in the fishing minigame and yields more items per catch.

This is where the crafting chain ends — nothing downstream consumes it, so a stockpile earns you nothing.

Alluring Bait Crafting Recipe

Work: 250000

Crafting it takes 19 materials across 4 types. Each craft returns 3, so the real cost per unit is lower than the list suggests.

Where to Find Alluring Bait

Alluring Bait shows up as world loot — junk hauls while fishing in the Sunreach Isle, treasure chests in the Sunreach Isle and sea base enemy camp loot in the Snowfields, and 4 more pools besides, usually 2–4 at a time. Higher-grade chests carry the better rolls, so the ones guarded by a camp are usually worth the detour.

Chests inside Sunreach Skies can hold it as well.

It unlocks as a straight technology at level 52 for 2 points, with no salvaged schematic in the chain — that is the real gap between it and the other drop-boosting baits, which all sit behind blueprint drops. It is also 14 levels past Deluxe Bait's level 38 unlock, so there is a long stretch of the game where Deluxe is the best craftable bar widener you own.

Using Alluring Bait Well

The item text is vague about how much it helps, and the numbers matter here. The catch bar comes out at 1.3x its normal width — a 30% wider window, against 1.15x on plain Deluxe Bait (Deluxe Bait). The loot side is a flat +40%, and it lands on both fishing reward channels at once: the drop table of the Pal you land and the separate item haul that fishing rolls alongside it. Everything else is untouched. Bite rate stays at base, so this bait does not make anything strike sooner, and the capture gauge still drains at the normal rate on a miss — a wider bar is the only help you get on a Pal that fights hard.

Crafting these is far more expensive in bench time than the material list suggests: one job produces 3 baits for the work cost of roughly 24 Deluxe Baits. Handing that to an assembly line with strong Handiwork Pals is close to mandatory if you plan to fish with it regularly, and the world-loot routes are usually the better supply — sea base enemy camps in the Snowfields hand over 3 to 5 every time. Reserve the crafted stock for runs where the loot bonus is the point rather than the catch itself. Two comparisons are worth knowing before you commit materials. Lucky Bait (Lucky Bait) already carries the identical +40% to both drop channels on a 1.25x bar, off a much cheaper recipe of Pal Fluid, Tomato and Flour — if drop count is all you want, the Alluring recipe buys you almost nothing over it. Risky Bait (Risky Bait) doubles the loot bonus to +80%, but yields a single bait per craft and wants 3 Cavern Mushroom instead of 1.
