Using Berry Seeds Well
The only thing seeds are needed for is building the Berry Plantation, a level 5 technology that costs 3 Berry Seeds, 10 Wood and 10 Stone. That cost is one-time — once the plot is standing it keeps producing Red Berries forever, so three seeds is all you ever have to bank before your food supply stops depending on foraging.
A plantation only runs if your base has Pals covering Planting, Watering and Gathering between them. Miss any one of the three and the plot sits at a stage and never advances, so line up that coverage before you spend the seeds.
