Intermediate Fishing Rod (Cattiva) is not something you find lying around — you craft it, and the recipe is below.
The recipe is gated on a bench you may not own yet. Beginner rods come off the High-Quality Workbench, Technology 11; the intermediate tier moves up to the Production Assembly Line, and that sits at Technology 29 — the same level that opens this rod. Reaching 29 without the line already down makes the rod a 5-point purchase rather than a 2-point one, since the bench takes 3 of its own. Putting it up costs 100 Ingot, 20 Nail, 10 Cement and 5 Wooden Board, and unlike the workbench below it the line runs on 200 power, so a generator has to be feeding the base before a single cast is possible. Production Assembly Line II, the Advanced Workshop and the Ancient Workbench accept the recipe as well, so anyone already past that rung loses nothing.
Using Intermediate Fishing Rod (Cattiva) Well
Damage and weight never change across the rod line — every one of the six hits for 25 and weighs 5 — so durability is the whole ladder: 120 on the Chillet, 180 on the Gumoss, 240 here, 360 on the Croajiro, 480 on the Pengullet, 720 on the Depresso. This one is exactly double the beginner rod most players start fishing with.
Only three of the six are on the Technology tree — the Chillet at 15, this one at 29, the Pengullet at 45 — and the other three open only if their schematic turns up. That matters most at this tier, because the Croajiro rod is the same rung with 50% more durability, but its build doubles every material here and adds 10 Coralum Ore on top, so it is a later project even once the paper drops. Barring that find, this is the rod for the sixteen levels between 29 and 45.
