Using Hyper Grappling Gun Well
The recipe is bought on the Technology tree at level 49 for 4 Ancient Technology points — boss currency, not the ordinary points you earn every level. The tree also gates it behind the Giga Grappling Gun node, and that one is gated behind Mega, which is gated behind the plain gun. There is no shortcut up the ladder: reaching this rung costs 1 + 2 + 3 + 4 = 10 ancient points in total, so treat it as a ten-point commitment rather than a four-point one.
Only two of the five ingredients come out of the ground. Trace the rest back and the real bill is Charcoal x100 and Flame Organ x20 for the Carbon Fiber, High Quality Pal Oil x40 and Sulfur x20 for the Polymer, and Ore x60 with Coal x60 for the Refined Ingot — on top of the Paldium Fragment x40 and 7 Ancient Civilization Parts you hand over directly. The Flame Organ line is the one that stalls people: 20 of them means a Fire Pal farm or a long detour, and it is worth stockpiling before you hit 49 rather than after.
The craft is 500,000 work, five times what the Giga version asked for. Load the bench, put your best Handiwork Pals on it and go do something else; standing there cranking it by hand is a genuinely long session.
This is the last grappling hook you will hold for a long stretch. The Ultra version does not open until level 63 and wants 5 more ancient points, and its recipe swaps Refined Ingot for Coralum Ingot x30 while doubling the Carbon Fiber and Polymer — a different tier of factory entirely. Fourteen levels is a long time to spend on one traversal tool, which is what makes the four points here easier to justify than the earlier rungs.
