Using Energy Cartridge Well
The recipe is gated behind the Energy Cartridge technology, which needs character Level 51 and costs 1 Technology point. Until that is unlocked the Caravan Shop and the oil rig crates are your only supply, so a Laser Rifle picked up early sits dry unless you are willing to pay 280 Gold a round.
One craft turns 1 Bio Battery and 2 Pal Metal Ingot into 20 rounds — two thirds of the Laser Rifle's 30-round magazine — so budget two craft cycles per full reload plus spares. The other beam weapons do not share the stock: the Laser Gatling Gun burns Laser Gatling Cartridges and the Charge Rifle takes Charge Rifle Ammo, each on its own recipe.
