Using Penking Plume Well
The plume rolls on half of all Penking kills at one per drop, so budget roughly two Penkings for every plume you need. The cheapest Penking Cap wants 5, which is about ten encounters; the 22-plume version is closer to forty-five. The Caravan Shop sells plumes outright at 500 Gold, which makes a basic cap a 2,500 Gold purchase and the top one 11,000 — if you have the coin, buying is far quicker than hunting.
The alpha Penking that patrols the same ground as the wild ones carries the plume in its own table too, and its kill also hands over 3-4 Ancient Civilization Parts and 3-4 Precious Pelt every single time. The alpha Penking Lux works the same way, trading the pelts for 2-3 Precious Entrails. Alphas respawn, so a lap past one is worth taking even when you are only after plumes.
Spheres pay out the same table as a kill, so you do not have to put Penking down to get plumes. Catching gives you the drop, the Paldeck credit and a Water/Ice worker with Mining 3 and Transporting 3 in one throw — there is no reason to farm this one lethally until you already have the captures you want.
