Where to Find Beakon Cryst Saddle

Beakon Cryst Saddle is not something you find lying around — you craft it, and the recipe is below.

Using Beakon Cryst Saddle Well

The gear sits at Technology level 71 and costs 4 points, and it is worth knowing before you save for it that none of that buys a faster ride. Beakon Cryst and the plain Beakon fly on identical numbers — 750 cruise, 1,200 sprint, 160 stamina, 14th of the 29 flying mounts either way — yet the ordinary Beakon Saddle opens at level 29 for 3 points. Forty-two levels and an extra point are charged for the element on the saddle, not for the wings under it.

What the craft actually switches on is Coldsnap, and an uncrafted saddle leaves the skill inert no matter how the Pal has been levelled. Mounted, your own attacks are converted to Ice damage and gain 5% at the first partner-skill rank, then 7, 10, 14 and 20% at rank 5 — the conversion is the part that decides where the ride is worth taking, since it turns whatever you are shooting into a Dragon and Grass answer and a bad idea in front of anything Fire. The movement half is conditional rather than free: the 5/9/13/18/25% ladder is paid for the other Ice Pals riding in your party, so on a mixed team it reads as zero and only an all-Ice roster sees the top of it.

The bill is a late-game one in both halves that matter. 24 Soralite Ingot means the sky island smelting chain has to be running — the level 29 saddle was content with Copper Ingot — and 20 Ice Organ is a farm rather than a stock check. Thirty-one Pals drop the organ on a guaranteed roll, but the counts decide the trip: Frostallion hands over 10 at a time, Kingpaca Cryst 3 to 6, Pierdon Cryst and Moldron Cryst 4 to 5 each. Four Kingpaca Cryst clears cover the saddle at worst; a chicken-run of one-organ Pals like Jolthog Cryst or Hangyu Cryst is twenty separate kills for the same line.

Only three Ice Pals fly at all, so this is a three-way choice and the ordering is not the one the level gates suggest. Frostallion sprints 1,800 with its saddle unlocking nine levels earlier at 62, and Vanwyrm Cryst is available from Technology 22 but crawls at 850. Beakon Cryst is the middle rung: build it if the tower boss is still out of reach and you want an Ice-converted mount at a catchable price, and treat it as a spare rather than an upgrade once Frostallion is saddled. If the party is not stacked with Ice Pals, the plain Beakon you already saddled at 29 flies the same route for free.

Beakon Cryst SaddleBeakon Cryst's Gear

Beakon Cryst Saddle is Beakon Cryst's own gear — no other Pal can equip it, and Beakon Cryst cannot be ridden or put to work in its geared role until you have this in your inventory.

Equipping it turns on Beakon Cryst's partner skill, Coldsnap.

Beakon Cryst is Ice, which is what decides where it is worth taking — the gear does not change its typing, only what you can do with it.
