Dumud Helm
Armor · ArmorHead0★A helm modeled on a Dumud.
Dumud Helm is an early head piece: 173rd of 202 by defense, so treat it as a stepping stone, at 20 against the 650 of Ancient Helm.
Wearing it also carries the effect Earth Damage Reduction Lv. 1, which matters more than the raw numbers in the biomes that punish you for the wrong outfit.
Nothing is crafted from it — it is an end product, so anything you make is meant to be used rather than banked as a component.

It does not stack, so every spare copy costs an inventory slot.

Using Dumud Helm Well
The Earth Damage Reduction Lv. 1 tag on this helm is worth an exact 15% off every point of Ground damage that reaches you. It has no condition attached — no HP gate, no partner Pal, no stance — it simply runs the whole time the helm is in the head slot. Worth knowing that this is the gear-side line and it is stronger than the Pal-side one: a Pal that rolls the same-named trait only gets 10%, so the helm is not redundant with a Ground-resistant partner.
Only one other piece of headgear carries the same Ground resistance, and it beats this one on paper from the very first tier: the Soft Hat (Soft Hat) starts at 25 defense and 70 HP against the helm's 20 and 60, and it has four upgrade steps on top, ending at 100 defense and 280 HP. The Dumud Helm has no upgrade path at all — 20 / 60 / 300 durability is where it stays. So treat the 25 Dog Coin as a purchase for the look plus a cheap early swap-in before Ground alphas and Ground-heavy caves; once your Soft Hat line is running, the helm has nothing left to offer beyond cosmetics.
What Dumud Helm Does
Dumud Helm grants Earth Damage Reduction Lv. 1: Element Resist Earth +15.
Alternatives and Upgrades
Dazzi Hat matches it exactly at 20 defense — those two differ in what they resist and what they weigh, not in raw defense, so picking between them is a swap rather than an upgrade. The next real step is Feathered Hair Band at 21; below it is Ghangler Accessory at 20.
