Using Heat Resistant Plasteel Armor Well

The research that opens this armor line sits at Level 53 and costs 5 Technology Points. One purchase covers all five rarities — the legendary schematic only decides which tier you are allowed to queue, so until the tech is bought no version of the piece appears in a crafting menu at all.

There is no hand-craft option anywhere in the line. It has to go through a Production Assembly Line II, or one of the benches that supersede it — the Advanced Workshop or the Ancient Workbench.

This tier carries 12,800,000 work: double the epic version and thirty-two times the plain common one. That makes it one of the longest non-Ancient builds in the game, so put your strongest Handiwork Pals on the line before you sink 60 Plasteel and 40 Flame Organs into it.

The equipped package is Heat Resistance Lv. 2, Cold Resistance Lv. 1 and Fire Damage Reduction Lv. 1. That last one is not a temperature effect — it is an always-on 15% cut to incoming Fire-element damage, which lands precisely on the bosses that share the volcano this armor is built for. The Cold Lv. 1 rating covers a chilly night but will not carry you through the snowfields.

It beats the legendary plain Plasteel Armor on defense, 640 against 616, with the same 1,950 HP, 72,000 durability and 35 weight. The premium is 40 Flame Organ and a third more work, and it buys you both the 24 defense and the Fire resistance the plain schematic has no equivalent for.

Against the legendary Cold Resistant Plasteel Armor this is a straight mirror — identical defense, HP, durability and weight — so pick on which gauge you need capped, not on stats.
