Turtacle Cap

Armor · ArmorHead0

A cap modeled on a Turtacle.

Turtacle Cap is an early head piece: 196th of 202 by defense, so treat it as a stepping stone, at 20 against the 650 of Ancient Helm.

Wearing it also carries the effect Water Damage Reduction Lv. 1, which matters more than the raw numbers in the biomes that punish you for the wrong outfit.

It feeds no other recipe, which makes it a terminal item: craft what you will actually carry and stop there.

Where to Find Turtacle Cap

If you would rather just buy it, the seller is Bounty Shop at 5 Successful Bounty Token.

The tag is 5 Successful Bounty Token, and tokens only come off bounty targets — kill or capture the wanted Pal and the token is the payout. Turning tokens into gear means finding a Vigilante Bounty Officer, who posts up inside villages and towns rather than in the field, so a bounty sweep is not spendable until you walk back into a settlement. Nothing else produces this cap: no recipe, no technology unlock, no drop table.

Using Turtacle Cap Well

The cap is not a pure cosmetic — it carries Water Damage Reduction Lv. 1, which trims 15% off incoming Water damage and stays live for as long as the hat is on your head. There is no HP threshold, no stance and no partner-Pal condition attached to it. Against a Water boss that percentage outweighs the 20 defense on the stat line, and at 4 weight it costs you almost nothing to swap in for a single fight.

Price-check before you hand over tokens. Gloopie Hat and Jelliette Hat are the identical 20 defense / 60 HP / 300 durability piece with the same Water resist for 25 Dog Coin at the Medal Shop, and a single Mimog catch pays out several times that. Ghangler Accessory repeats the line again for 80 Battle Ticket. Five bounty tokens is a fair rate, but it is not the cheapest one — spend them here for the shell, not for the numbers.

Croajiro Cap sits on the same shelf at the same 5-token price with the same Water Damage Reduction Lv. 1, so there is no reason to buy both — one Water hat fills the slot. If you want Water mitigation that actually matters, Ring of Water Resistance runs Lv. 3 for 30% in an accessory slot, which lets you keep a real helmet on your head and stack the two effects instead of choosing between them.

The shape is Turtacle, a pure Water Pal, and that is exactly why the cap cuts Water damage — every hat on the bounty rack inherits the element of the Pal it copies. The Turtacle Terra variant is Water/Ground, but the cap is modelled on the base form and carries only the Water line.

What Turtacle Cap Does

Turtacle Cap grants Water Damage Reduction Lv. 1: Element Resist Water +15.

Alternatives and Upgrades

Tocotoco Cap matches it exactly at 20 defense — those two differ in what they resist and what they weigh, not in raw defense, so picking between them is a swap rather than an upgrade. The next real step is Feathered Hair Band at 21; below it is Witch Hat at 20.
