Croajiro Cap

Armor · ArmorHead0

A cap styled after a Croajiro.

Croajiro Cap is an early head piece: 171st of 202 by defense, so treat it as a stepping stone, at 20 against the 650 of Ancient Helm.

Wearing it also carries the effect Water Damage Reduction Lv. 1, which matters more than the raw numbers in the biomes that punish you for the wrong outfit.

No recipe takes it as an ingredient. Whatever you build is the finished article, so there is no reason to hoard spares.

Where to Find Croajiro Cap

If you would rather just buy it, the seller is Bounty Shop at 5 Successful Bounty Token.

The price is 5 Successful Bounty Token, and those come off bounty targets you either kill or throw a sphere at — the token is the receipt for the contract. Redeeming happens at a Vigilante Bounty Officer, who stands in villages and towns rather than out in the field, so a bounty run only converts to gear once you walk back into a settlement. There is no recipe, no technology unlock and no drop table entry for this hat; the shop is the only way it exists.

Using Croajiro Cap Well

Water Damage Reduction Lv. 1 is the reason to own this, and it is worth exactly 15% off incoming Water damage. The flag on it is always-on: it does not wait for low HP, a stance, a base camp or a particular partner Pal, so the 15% applies from the moment the cap goes on. Against Water bosses that mitigation is doing more work than the 20 defense ever will.

Do not pay a premium for this exact stat line. Gloopie Hat and Jelliette Hat are the same 20 defense / 60 HP / 300 durability with the same Water Damage Reduction Lv. 1, and they cost 25 Dog Coin at the Medal Shop — coins one Mimog hands over in a single haul. Ghangler Accessory is that same line again for 80 Battle Ticket at the Arena, which is the worst rate of the four. Spend bounty tokens here only if you want the frog on your head or you have tokens sitting idle.

Turtacle Cap costs the same 5 tokens from the same shelf and carries the identical Water resist, so buying both is redundant — one Water hat covers the slot. If you want the resistance to actually scale, Ring of Water Resistance runs Lv. 3 for 30% in an accessory slot, leaving the head free for a helmet with real defense. Pair that with a proper helm and you get double the mitigation and better armour at once.

Croajiro is a pure Water Pal, which is why the cap modelled on it resists Water. Every hat on the bounty and arena shelves follows that rule — the head it copies decides the element it cuts, so you can read the resist off the Pal without opening the shop menu.

What Croajiro Cap Does

Croajiro Cap grants Water Damage Reduction Lv. 1: Element Resist Water +15.

Alternatives and Upgrades

Chikipi Cap matches it exactly at 20 defense — those two differ in what they resist and what they weigh, not in raw defense, so picking between them is a swap rather than an upgrade. The next real step is Feathered Hair Band at 21; below it is Dazzi Hat at 20.
