Life Lotus (L)
Material · MaterialMonster3★The large green bloom, and rarely an easy find. Vital Elixir requires it.
Life Lotus (L) feeds 2 different recipes, which is why it is worth farming past the point you think you need it.
Details
It weighs almost nothing and stacks to 9,999, so there is no reason not to carry a full stack. At 30,000 gold it is worth real money to a merchant.
Where to Find Life Lotus (L)
Life Lotus (L) shows up as world loot — crates on the oil rigs, crates on the large oil rig and recycling Decayed Ancient Relics, and 4 more pools besides, usually 1–2 at a time.
Green is the only large flower that sits in two different cavern node pools, which is why it turns up more often than the other four. A Volcanic Cavern reward point that rolls a lotus splits evenly between Life Lotus (L) and Speed Lotus (L); a Cavern of the Dunes point splits evenly between Life and Power (L). The node is weight 1 against a 5.5 total on a medium reward point and 1 against 6 on a hard one, so roughly one point in six becomes a lotus and half of those come up green. Easy layouts carry no lotus node at all, so a clear that paid nothing was the wrong cavern grade rather than a bad roll.
Most of the flower is not on the reward points at all — it is a floor pickup seeded into the cavern geometry, and the Volcanic Cavern is the richest ground for it. Ten volcanic layouts exist, each holding between two and seven green spots, and every spot blooms about three visits in ten. Averaged across the layout draw that comes to roughly 1.1 flowers a clear against enemies at level 32 to 36. The spread is wide enough to read the room for: two of the ten carry seven spots and average over two flowers, while the thinnest carry two and average under one, so walking out of a bare layout and re-rolling usually beats sweeping it. Cavern of the Dunes grows it too but thinner — one to three green spots per layout at the same three-in-ten odds, about 0.5 a clear at level 30 to 37.
Feybreak Cavern is the third place it grows and the only one that does not gamble: twenty of its twenty-one layouts carry exactly one green spot that blooms about nine visits in ten, so call it 0.9 a clear — the catch being enemies at level 50 to 56, twenty levels above the volcano for a slightly worse rate. Its reward points hold no lotus node whatsoever, so every flower there is baked into the layout. The rest of the cavern list is worth knowing so you can skip it: Hillside Cavern, Ravine Grotto and Mountain Stream Grotto draw from the small-flower pool only, where a green pull is Life Lotus (S) one time in four and never this one; the Astral Mountains Cavern pays Stamina and Carrying (L); Cherry Blossom Cave and Sunreach Skies grow no lotus of any kind.

Using Life Lotus (L) Well
Two routes hand over the finished Vital Elixir and skip all six flowers. Every cavern's deepest reward point spawns a Dungeon Elixir chest as a fixed spawn rather than a roll, and Feybreak Cavern's is the only one in the game that rolls a Vital Elixir — weight 1 against 100 for the 3,400 to 3,700 Gold it otherwise pays, so around a 1% hit, but landing it saves six flowers. Feybreak being the same cavern that blooms the flower at nine-in-ten makes it the one run that pays both ways. Supply drops are the broader shortcut: crates in the Desert, Mount Obsidian, the Snowfields, Sakurajima, Feybreak and Sunreach Isle each carry all five large elixirs at 20% apiece, one or two at a time, so a Vital Elixir turns up about one crate in five for no flowers at all.
Price the two sinks before you spend. Vital Elixir is six of these plus two Predator Cores, a permanent Health gain for you and nobody else — feeding it to a Pal does nothing, and Life Lotus (S) is no cheaper stand-in since it feeds the weaker Vital Remedy instead. Life Fruit is the Pal-side Health boost and it is the bargain of the three fruits: three of these, three Life Lotus (S), three Speed Lotus (S) and three Carrying Lotus (S). Twelve flowers is more than Power Fruit or Stout Fruit ask for, but only three of them are large where those two want six each, so green is the single colour you have to farm at the hard tier. If you are already running the master-grade Moon Lord raid for the 20% drop, its pick-one reward offers three Life Fruit — nine of these flowers plus twenty-seven small ones you never have to pick.
