Using Hallowed Mask Well

The 240 Hallowed Bar is only half the price of entry. This tier of the mask never appears in the tech tree at any level — the recipe shows up at the bench only while a Hallowed Mask Schematic 4 (Hallowed Mask Schematic 4) is on you. No schematic, no recipe, however many bars you are carrying.

That schematic is itself a crafted item, and the ladder is brutal: 5 copies of one grade fuse into a single copy of the next. Five Hallowed Mask Schematic 3 (Hallowed Mask Schematic 3) make the one you need, and tracing it back to the plain Hallowed Mask Schematic (Hallowed Mask Schematic) means 625 base copies for one legendary mask. Each fuse is only 1,000 work against the mask's own 40,000, so the bench time is trivial — the drops are the wall.

The damage line that makes this helmet worth wearing is not exclusive to this tier. Every rarity of Hallowed Mask carries the same divine-power text and the same boost to Meowmere, Excalibur, Terra Blade and Legendary Meowmere, and the plain version (Hallowed Mask) costs 20 Hallowed Bar with no schematic ladder behind it. If you are building purely to hit harder with those four swords, craft the cheap one and put the 240 bars somewhere else.

What the legendary tier actually buys is survivability, and the curve flattens hard at the top. Across the five grades the bar cost runs 20 / 30 / 60 / 120 / 240 while durability runs 4,500 / 6,000 / 7,500 / 10,500 / 13,500. Stepping up from the epic mask (Hallowed Mask) doubles the bar bill for +14 defense, +32 HP and 29% more durability. Craft work is a flat 40,000 at every grade, so nothing about the top tier is slower to produce — it is purely a question of whether you have Hallowed Bar to burn.

Hallowed Mask is not learned from the Technology tree — you need a schematic for it. One schematic grants the recipe, and they are world loot — chests, boss Pals and the late-game pools — rather than anything you research. Higher-rarity copies of the same schematic raise the quality of what you end up crafting.

Fastest route. The fastest route is treasure chests in the Yakushima, and the reason is the ladder rather than the top rung: that pool stocks every tier, so the common copies it hands you fuse upward into the one you want. Counting them, a top-tier Hallowed Mask schematic works out at roughly 1775 containers against the 9091 the 4★ drop rate alone suggests. Spare low tiers are progress, not clutter. Schematics fuse five-to-one, so a lower tier with better odds can beat the top tier outright. Counts are containers of that source, not time.
