Where to Find Axel Hat
Axel Hat is not something you find lying around — you craft it, and the recipe is below.
The hat comes off the Hard Mode reward table for Axel and Orserk, and it is guaranteed on the first clear of that version of the tower. The level 50 original fight never pays it out, and nothing else does either — no tech entry, no vendor, no chest. The single Cloth on its recipe line repairs a hat you already own rather than making one.
The tower has to be unlocked before any of this: Auri and Shaolong is the fight gating the Hard Mode rematch here. Once inside it is a level 80 boss with 514,800 HP on a Dragon/Electric card, and both escorts are Electric too, so a Ground team clears the whole arena. Using Axel Hat Well
20 defense and 60 HP is cosmetic territory — well under real endgame headgear — so treat it as a look and swap out before anything that can kill you. The reason to keep re-running the tower after the hat is in hand is the rest of that table: the Legendary Heat-Resistant Ancient Armor schematic and Training Crystals for condensing the Pals you brought.

Alternatives and Upgrades
Auri Hat matches it exactly at 20 defense — those two differ in what they resist and what they weigh, not in raw defense, so picking between them is a swap rather than an upgrade. The next real step is Feathered Hair Band at 21; below it is Bjorn Hat at 20.
