Using Dazzi Hat Well
Dark Damage Reduction Lv. 1 is worth 15% less damage taken from Dark attacks, and it is always on while the hat is equipped. Note which element that is: only the plain common-rarity Dazzi Hat carries the Electric version of the passive, also 15%. Every tier above common swaps the Dazzi-themed lightning protection for night-element mitigation instead, so if it was the Electric resistance you wanted, the cheapest hat is the one that has it.
Cost climbs much faster than the tier does. The five versions ask 5, 7, 10, 15, and 22 Dazzi Cloud, and the work required goes from 10,000 on the common to 160,000 here — sixteen times the bench time for the same 20 defense. Queue this one with your best Handiwork Pals assigned rather than hand-cranking it.
Only the common tier's schematic is sold over a counter — the Volcano Shop lists it for 500 Gold. The legendary schematic that unlocks this recipe has no merchant entry, so it has to turn up as world loot before you can craft this version at all.
Defense 20 and HP 60 are identical on all five rarity tiers of this hat. The only number rarity moves is durability — 300 on the common, then 450, 600, 900, and 1200 here. Crafting the legendary buys you four times the lifespan between repairs and nothing at all in protection, so treat it as a convenience upgrade rather than a survivability one.
Dazzi Cloud is a guaranteed drop, one per Dazzi or Dazzi Noct defeated or caught, so 22 clouds means 22 Dazzi and no drop-rate gambling. A Caravan Shop merchant also stocks the cloud at 500 Gold each, which prices this hat at 11,000 Gold if you buy the whole stack instead of farming it.

The same piece exists at 5 rarities, and the gap is not cosmetic: defense runs 20 to 20, a 1x swing. Which one you end up with is decided by the rarity of the schematic you built from, not by the recipe — so a legendary copy of this is worth more than the next item up built from a common one.
