Gumoss Cap
Armor · ArmorHead4★Gumoss Cap is 63rd of 202 head pieces by defense, at 80 against the 650 of Ancient Helm.
Wearing it also carries the effect Grass Damage Reduction Lv. 1, which matters more than the raw numbers in the biomes that punish you for the wrong outfit.
No recipe takes it as an ingredient. Whatever you build is the finished article, so there is no reason to hoard spares.
Details
It does not stack, so every spare copy costs an inventory slot.
Where to Find Gumoss Cap
Gumoss Cap is not something you find lying around — you craft it, and the recipe is below.
Using Gumoss Cap Well
The 22 Gumoss Leaf are the entire cost of this tier, and one Pal supplies them: Gumoss drops a single leaf roughly half the times it goes down, so budget for about 44 encounters. Capturing pays out the same as killing, so run the farm with spheres and bank the Paldeck credit while you are at it.
The Caravan Shop stocks Gumoss Leaf at 500 Gold each, so buying the whole set outright runs 11,000 Gold — eleven times what the finished cap is worth. Use the merchant to top off the last two or three leaves, not to skip the farm.
Every rarity of this cap has its own separate schematic, and the recipe only shows up while that exact schematic is sitting in your inventory — owning the lower ones does nothing for this tier. The craft is 160,000 work, sixteen times the common version, so stock the bench, put your best Handiwork Pals on it and walk away rather than feeding it by hand.
Every Tier of Gumoss Cap
The same piece exists at 5 rarities, and the gap is not cosmetic: defense runs 20 to 80, a 4x swing. Which one you end up with is decided by the rarity of the schematic you built from, not by the recipe — so a legendary copy of this is worth more than the next item up built from a common one.

What Gumoss Cap Does
Gumoss Cap grants Grass Damage Reduction Lv. 1: Element Resist Leaf +15.
Schematics That Unlock Gumoss Cap
Gumoss Cap is not learned from the Technology tree — you need a schematic for it. One schematic grants the recipe, and they are world loot — chests, boss Pals and the late-game pools — rather than anything you research. Higher-rarity copies of the same schematic raise the quality of what you end up crafting.

Alternatives and Upgrades
Grinning Tocotoco Cap matches it exactly at 80 defense — those two differ in what they resist and what they weigh, not in raw defense, so picking between them is a swap rather than an upgrade. The next real step is Monarch's Crown at 90; below it is Katress Cap at 80.
