Hallowed Hood
Armor · ArmorHead4★[Tides of Terraria] A Hallowed Bar helmet wrapped in divine power, which raises the damage Terraprisma deals.
Hallowed Hood is 24th of 202 head pieces by defense, at 182 against the 650 of Ancient Helm.
Wearing it also carries the effect Hallowed Power: Summon, which matters more than the raw numbers in the biomes that punish you for the wrong outfit.
No recipe takes it as an ingredient. Whatever you build is the finished article, so there is no reason to hoard spares.
Details
At 13 weight each it eats carry capacity fast, so bring a mount or park a chest nearby. At 86,400 gold it is worth real money to a merchant.
Hallowed Hood Crafting Recipe
Crafting it takes 240 materials across 1 type.
Where to Find Hallowed Hood
The recipe is not on the Technology tree — it is locked behind a schematic you have to find first. The best single source is treasure chests in the Yakushima at 0.011% per container, and the table below lists every tier and where each one drops.
Using Hallowed Hood Well
Bars alone will not put this on the bench. The legendary hood only appears in the crafting list while a Hallowed Hood Schematic 4 (Hallowed Hood Schematic 4) is sitting in your inventory, and no tier of this helmet is ever unlocked through the tech tree. The schematic is consumed by nothing — it just has to be carried.
Only the plain Hallowed Hood Schematic (Hallowed Hood Schematic) drops; every grade above it is fused, 5 copies into 1. That makes 625 base schematics the true cost of one legendary hood, and the base schematic is a roughly 7% pull from Yakushima treasure chests. Each fuse is 1,000 work at the assembly line against the helmet's own 40,000, so the bench is never the bottleneck — the chest loop is.
Hallowed Bar (Hallowed Bar) cannot be smelted — it comes out of Yakushima chests, 4 to 10 from a standard treasure chest and 20 to 40 from the top-grade ones, which is the same loop that feeds you the schematics. Budget the whole set together: a legendary Terraprisma (Terraprisma) is another 480 bars on top of this helmet's 240, so the finished pairing is 720 bars of chest running.
The Terraprisma damage line is not a reward for reaching the top tier. Every grade of Hallowed Hood carries the same Hallowed Power: Summon passive, and no other item in the game carries it, so a 20-bar common hood (Hallowed Hood) boosts the sword by exactly as much as this one does. If the summon damage is all you want, craft the cheap hood and spend the 240 bars on the sword instead.
What the legendary grade actually buys is bulk, and it gets expensive fast. Bar cost across the five grades runs 20 / 30 / 60 / 120 / 240 against defense of 140 / 154 / 161 / 168 / 182, HP of 320 / 352 / 368 / 384 / 416 and durability of 4,500 / 6,000 / 7,500 / 10,500 / 13,500. Coming up from the epic hood (Hallowed Hood) doubles the bar bill for 14 defense, 32 HP and 3,000 durability. Craft work is a flat 40,000 at every grade.
Every Tier of Hallowed Hood
The same piece exists at 5 rarities, and the gap is not cosmetic: defense runs 140 to 182, a 1.3x swing. Which one you end up with is decided by the rarity of the schematic you built from, not by the recipe — so a legendary copy of this is worth more than the next item up built from a common one.
| Rarity | Item | Defense | HP | Durability |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 0★ | Hallowed Hood | 140 | 320 | 4500 |
| 1★ | Hallowed Hood | 154 | 352 | 6000 |
| 2★ | Hallowed Hood | 161 | 368 | 7500 |
| 3★ | Hallowed Hood | 168 | 384 | 10500 |
| 4★ | Hallowed Hood (this one) | 182 | 416 | 13500 |
What Hallowed Hood Does
Hallowed Hood grants Hallowed Power: Summon: Damage Up If Equipped Yakushima Summon Weapon +20.
Schematics That Unlock Hallowed Hood
Hallowed Hood is not learned from the Technology tree — you need a schematic for it. One schematic grants the recipe, and they are world loot — chests, boss Pals and the late-game pools — rather than anything you research. Higher-rarity copies of the same schematic raise the quality of what you end up crafting.
Fastest route. The fastest route is treasure chests in the Yakushima, and the reason is the ladder rather than the top rung: that pool stocks every tier, so the common copies it hands you fuse upward into the one you want. Counting them, a top-tier Hallowed Hood schematic works out at roughly 1775 containers against the 9091 the 4★ drop rate alone suggests. Spare low tiers are progress, not clutter. Schematics fuse five-to-one, so a lower tier with better odds can beat the top tier outright. Counts are containers of that source, not time.
| Schematic | Rarity | Where it comes from |

Alternatives and Upgrades
Hallowed Helmet matches it exactly at 182 defense — those two differ in what they resist and what they weigh, not in raw defense, so picking between them is a swap rather than an upgrade. The next real step is Pal Metal Helm at 195; below it is Hallowed Mask at 182.
