Hallowed Helmet
Armor · ArmorHead4★[Tides of Terraria] A helmet worked from Hallowed Bar. Divine power fills it, pushing up the damage of Vortex Beater.
Hallowed Helmet is 23rd of 202 head pieces by defense, at 182 against the 650 of Ancient Helm.
Wearing it also carries the effect Hallowed Power: Ranged, which matters more than the raw numbers in the biomes that punish you for the wrong outfit.
It feeds no other recipe, which makes it a terminal item: craft what you will actually carry and stop there.
Details
At 13 weight each it eats carry capacity fast, so bring a mount or park a chest nearby. At 86,400 gold it is worth real money to a merchant.
Hallowed Helmet Crafting Recipe
Crafting it takes 240 materials across 1 type.
Where to Find Hallowed Helmet
The recipe is not on the Technology tree — it is locked behind a schematic you have to find first. The best single source is treasure chests in the Yakushima at 0.011% per container, and the table below lists every tier and where each one drops.
Using Hallowed Helmet Well
Nothing separates the four Hallowed head pieces except the weapon they feed. Hallowed Mask, Hallowed Headgear, this helmet and Hallowed Hood all sit at 182 defense, 416 HP and 13,500 durability at Legendary, and the pattern holds at every grade below — 140 defense and 320 HP on the Common, identical across all four. So the pick is entirely about what is in your hands: the Helmet is the Vortex Beater hat, the Mask covers the melee line of Meowmere, Excalibur, Terra Blade and Legendary Meowmere, the Headgear feeds Nightglow, and the Hood feeds Terraprisma. Putting on the wrong one costs the weapon bonus and nothing else, so a swap between them is never a defensive downgrade and a set of all four is the honest loadout if you rotate weapons.
The grade is bought with bars, not with bench time. This Legendary takes the same 40,000 crafting work as the Common — the work figure does not move across the five grades — while the Hallowed Bar bill climbs from 20 to 240. Twelve times the material returns +42 defense, +96 HP and triple durability, which is why the Common is the one to build the day you unlock the line and this is the one you stop replacing. Both ends of the ladder are schematic-gated in the same way: the recipe only appears at the Production Assembly Line while the matching schematic — Hallowed Helmet Schematic 4 for this grade — is sitting in your inventory, and it unlocks by being carried rather than being spent, so one copy keeps producing.
Every Tier of Hallowed Helmet
The same piece exists at 5 rarities, and the gap is not cosmetic: defense runs 140 to 182, a 1.3x swing. Which one you end up with is decided by the rarity of the schematic you built from, not by the recipe — so a legendary copy of this is worth more than the next item up built from a common one.

What Hallowed Helmet Does
Hallowed Helmet grants Hallowed Power: Ranged: Damage Up If Equipped Yakushima Ranged Weapon +20.
Schematics That Unlock Hallowed Helmet
Hallowed Helmet is not learned from the Technology tree — you need a schematic for it. One schematic grants the recipe, and they are world loot — chests, boss Pals and the late-game pools — rather than anything you research. Higher-rarity copies of the same schematic raise the quality of what you end up crafting.
Fastest route. The fastest route is treasure chests in the Yakushima, and the reason is the ladder rather than the top rung: that pool stocks every tier, so the common copies it hands you fuse upward into the one you want. Counting them, a top-tier Hallowed Helmet schematic works out at roughly 1775 containers against the 9091 the 4★ drop rate alone suggests. Spare low tiers are progress, not clutter. Schematics fuse five-to-one, so a lower tier with better odds can beat the top tier outright. Counts are containers of that source, not time.
| Schematic | Rarity | Where it comes from |

Alternatives and Upgrades
Hallowed Headgear matches it exactly at 182 defense — those two differ in what they resist and what they weigh, not in raw defense, so picking between them is a swap rather than an upgrade. The next real step is Pal Metal Helm at 195; below it is Hallowed Hood at 182.
