Using Pal Recovery Grenade Well
You cannot make this one in the field. The item tables switch hand-crafting off for it, so every batch has to go through a weapon bench back at base — the plain Weapon Workbench, either Weapon Assembly Line, the Advanced Weapon Assembly Line or the Ancient Workbench. Each grenade costs 13,000 work, which is a long stint for one throwable, so park high-Handiwork Pals on the bench and queue a stack rather than crafting them one at a time as you need them.
It carries no attack value at all — Frag Grenade hits for 750, this one for nothing. That is the whole point: you can lob it into a scrum your own Pal is standing in, or onto a mount mid-fight, without shaving any HP off anything. It also does not scratch the Pal you are trying to weaken for a catch, so a healing grenade landing on your Pal during a capture attempt never spoils the throw.
Do not build a Pal Arena plan around it. The arena's block list holds only seven items and this is one of them, sitting next to Scatter Sphere Launcher, Homing Sphere Launcher and all three grades of Boost Gun. In arena battles your Pal fights on whatever HP it walked in with, so the grenade is strictly a wild-and-boss tool — worth crafting for tower bosses and raids, worth nothing for ranked matches.
