Water Grenade
Weapon · WeaponThrowObject0★A Water Grenade for mid-range fights, sitting a few seconds after the throw before bursting and dealing Water damage to anything nearby.
Water Grenade is an early throwable: 10th of 11 by attack, so treat it as a stepping stone, at 750 against the 4,000 of Frag Grenade Mk2.
This is where the crafting chain ends — nothing downstream consumes it, so a stockpile earns you nothing.
Details
It weighs almost nothing and stacks to 9,999, so there is no reason not to carry a full stack.

Where to Find Water Grenade
Water Grenade is not something you find lying around — you craft it, and the recipe is below.
Using Water Grenade Well
The technology at level 33 is not the real gate — Cryogenic Coolant is. Cryogenic Coolant is itself a tech, unlocked at level 31 for another 2 points, and it is built at a Production Assembly Line from one Aquatic Pal Fluids plus one Ice Organ. So the throwable costs 4 technology points end to end, and the true bill per grenade is one Aquatic Pal Fluids, one Ice Organ and one Gunpowder. It is also one of the few in the line that wants no Stone at all, so the ten-stone habit from Frag Grenade and Ice Grenade does not carry over — the base is entirely organ and fluid.
Aquatic Pal Fluids is the ingredient worth setting up for, because the coolant step means you burn one per grenade with no way to field-craft a replacement. A Kelpsea on a ranch produces it on a loop, which is the only renewable source; killing works faster, with Azurobe and Jormuntide each dropping 2 to 4 and the common water pals — Celaray, Croajiro, Turtacle — dropping 1 to 2. The caravan, dungeon and wandering merchants all sell it at 300 Gold if you would rather buy the stack. Ice Organ is the cheap half: if you already took the level-29 Ice Grenade you have that supply line running.
Water is the element that Fire pals cannot shrug off, so this is what you carry into Blazamut, Reptyro, Ragnahawk, Wixen and Suzaku fights, and into the volcanic region generally where nearly everything hostile is Fire. Because the coolant chain makes it the most expensive grenade in the line to keep stocked while it still hits for the same flat 750 as the level-25 plain one, treat it as a matchup pick rather than a default throwable — craft a batch before a Fire boss or a volcano raid, and lean on cheaper elements the rest of the time.
Alternatives and Upgrades
Shock Grenade matches it exactly at 750 attack — those two differ in what they resist and what they weigh, not in raw attack, so picking between them is a swap rather than an upgrade. The next real step is Frag Grenade Mk2 at 4,000; below it is Throw Stone at 50.
