Needs Suzaku Saddle equipped — without that gear the skill does nothing. It unlocks at Technology level 43 for 4 points, so a Pal caught early can sit unusable for a while.

People once held it responsible for bringing on the dry season. After a year of drought they would hunt it down without restraint, betting that thinning its numbers would buy a good harvest the following year.

What Suzaku actually reads at each level, from a worst-case individual (IV 0) to a perfect one (IV 100). Condensing, souls and Trust stack on top of these.

How to Get Suzaku

Suzaku is Fire, so a Water attacker takes it down fastest — and a Pal it resists will drag the fight long enough for it to heal or flee.

Wild Suzaku spawn between level 40 and 80. The higher end resists spheres noticeably harder, so it is worth hunting the low-level spawns for your first catch and saving the high ones for a condenser stack.

Its capture rate is 1.0, which makes it dead average, which makes the back-strike bonus worth lining up before you throw.

There is a hatching route as well as a field one. Suzaku sits in the Huge Scorching Egg pool, and its best entry is the desert grade-1 nests at 1.16% — about one Suzaku for every 86 eggs off that pool. That is slow next to walking the 13 wild points, so treat the egg as something you check when a desert hatch run is already underway rather than a plan of its own.

Playing Suzaku Well

Nothing in the alpha's kit is off-element: it is Fire and only Fire, so a Water team both resists it and hits back for extra. Azurobe is the one to lead with, because Waterwing Dance retints your own gunfire as Water while adding 5-14% ranged attack by skill rank — you stop needing a Water Pal to land the damage for you. If you would rather keep the damage on the Pal, Jormuntide adds 50-65% against a wet target, and Kelpsea (15-30%) or Gobfin (10-20%) ride along purely as attack boosts.

As a mount it is the endurance pick, not the speed one. Its 350 flight stamina is the highest of any flier in the game — Suzaku Aqua matches it, and the next tier down (Frostallion, Selyne, Astegon) stops at 300 — but a 1,100 sprint puts it 51st among mounts overall. Cross the map without touching down on it; race on something else. The saddle unlocks at technology level 43, two levels under the alpha you would fight for it.

The level 45 alpha stands on one fixed spot in the northern dunes, a short flight due north of the Duneshelter fast-travel point and slightly west of it; Frozen Dune Cape is the next closest waypoint if you are coming from the ice side. The wild population is a separate matter — those 13 points sit further south and west, and they are the same 13 by day and by night, so nothing about this Pal needs you to wait for dark.

Suzaku Boss Rewards

Beating the boss Suzaku once yields the Suzaku Bounty Token. Holding it is the whole effect — it permanently raises the stats of every Pal on your team for as long as it sits in your inventory, so it is never worth selling.

The fight also unlocks Suzaku Saddle, the gear that lets you ride or deploy Suzaku properly.

Wild Suzaku Level Range

Wild Suzaku roam at level 40–80 out in the world — plan your spheres and party level around that before hunting one on the interactive map.

Where to Find Suzaku

Suzaku spawn locations in the wild — every marked spot is a known spawn area.

Most of them are around Desert Backbone (53.8% of known spots), with smaller pockets near Sand Dunes Entrance and PIDF Tower Entrance. They come in groups of up to 2, so plan sphere stock for more than one.

Suzaku in Base Raids

Suzaku shows up in one raid group that attack your base, at level 16 around the Mount Obsidian. Worth knowing before you settle there — build your defences around what actually turns up.

Best Suzaku Build

Suzaku shines as a mount. The passives below push that strength as hard as possible — hunt them through catches, breeding or implants.
