Cloth Outfit
Armor · ArmorBody4★An outfit stitched together from Cloth. It keeps the chill of night off.
Cloth Outfit is an early body armour: 141st of 145 by defense, so treat it as a stepping stone, at 24 against the 1,092 of Cold-Resistant Ancient Armor.
Wearing it also carries the effects Cold Resistance Lv. 1, Attack Up (S) Lv. 4, which matters more than the raw numbers in the biomes that punish you for the wrong outfit.
It feeds no other recipe, which makes it a terminal item: craft what you will actually carry and stop there.

It does not stack, so every spare copy costs an inventory slot.
Cloth Outfit Crafting Recipe
Crafting it takes 21 materials across 3 types, and the bottleneck is almost always the 14× requirement — line that up first and the rest follows.
Where to Find Cloth Outfit
The recipe is not on the Technology tree — it is locked behind a schematic you have to find first. The best single source is treasure map digs (tier 1) at 0.8% per container, and the table below lists every tier and where each one drops.
What you do go and find is the schematic that decides which rarity you end up building, and the Grasslands chest pool behind it is more specific than the name suggests: the same table feeds the ordinary chests inside Hillside Cavern, Ravine Grotto and Isolated Island Cavern, so a cavern run is a concentrated way at a pool that is otherwise scattered across the overworld. Only the plainest chest grade pays it, though — the same pool rolled at the higher grade hands over Mega Spheres, medicine and nothing off the schematic ladder, which makes a better-looking chest in those caverns a worse chest for this.
That 0.025% is the direct hit alone. The pool stocks all four rungs on an exact five-to-one step — 3.16% for the 1★ copy, then 0.63%, 0.13% and 0.025% — and five of any rung fuse into the one above, so every rung is worth precisely the same finished Legendary and nothing it hands you is filler. Costed that way rather than a rung at a time, one Grasslands chest is 0.10% of a Legendary, near enough 990 of them; a tier 1 treasure map dig is 1.35%, about 74 digs; a Grasslands fishing haul 0.53%, about 190. The caverns finish last by a factor of five against fishing and thirteen against digging — clear them for the experience, not for this.
Alpha Chillet beats every container at 3% a drop roll, and it is a level 11 field boss, so the quickest route to a Legendary body armour opens long before the armour itself matters. Take it with a sphere rather than a corpse: a captured alpha gives up its drop table on the catch and rolls the same table again when you butcher it afterwards, turning one respawn into two chances instead of one — roughly 17 alphas for the schematic against 33 straight kills.
Using Cloth Outfit Well
The cold rating does not climb with the rarity. Every rung of this outfit, from the plain Cloth Outfit you unlock at technology level 4 for 2 points up to this Legendary, carries the same rank 1 cold resistance — the schematic buys defence, health and durability, never a warmer coat. A Tundra Outfit straight off the tech tree at level 9 sits a full rank higher on cold and still edges this one on raw defence, 25 against 24, for three Cloth and two Ice Organ. So the Legendary is the temperate-zone piece: 112 health and 700 durability against the Tundra Outfit's 70 and 300. If you are actually heading into the snow, the common Tundra Outfit is the warmer and cheaper answer and no amount of chest-farming changes that.
There is a second passive on the schematic versions that the tech-tree outfit does not have at all: an accuracy bonus for the armour slot, and it steps up one grade per schematic rung, so this Legendary carries the strongest of the four. That is the part of the upgrade that never shows in the defence number, and it is why a schematic body piece is worth wearing even in the window where its defence has been overtaken by a crafted metal set.
That same alpha also pays for the build. The recipe wants a single Ancient Civilization Part, and Chillet drops 2 to 4 of them on every clear at 100%, alongside 2 to 4 Precious Pelts worth selling — so the schematic and its one scarce ingredient come out of the same fight, and by the time the 3% finally lands you are holding enough parts to craft it several times over.
The Epic rung is where the real value stops. Cloth Outfit gives 22 defence, 105 health and 600 durability with no Ancient Civilization Part in the recipe, and its schematic drops at 0.13% against this one's 0.025% — five times more often. Going the last step buys two defence, seven health and a hundred durability, and doubles the crafting workload on top. Since five Epic copies fuse into the Legendary anyway, the sane play is to wear the first Epic you build and let the surplus copies pile up towards the fusion rather than holding the whole ladder in a box waiting for it.
Every Tier of Cloth Outfit
The same piece exists at 5 rarities, and the gap is not cosmetic: defense runs 15 to 24, a 1.6x swing. Which one you end up with is decided by the rarity of the schematic you built from, not by the recipe — so a legendary copy of this is worth more than the next item up built from a common one.
| Rarity | Item | Defense | HP | Durability |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 0★ | Cloth Outfit | 15 | 70 | 150 |
| 1★ | Cloth Outfit | 19 | 91 | 400 |
| 2★ | Cloth Outfit | 21 | 98 | 500 |
| 3★ | Cloth Outfit | 22 | 105 | 600 |
| 4★ | Cloth Outfit (this one) | 24 | 112 | 700 |
What Cloth Outfit Does
Cloth Outfit grants Cold Resistance Lv. 1: Temperature Resist Cold +1.
Cloth Outfit grants Attack Up (S) Lv. 4: Shot Attack +12.
Schematics That Unlock Cloth Outfit
The Technology tree hands you the plain Cloth Outfit at level 4 for 2 Technology points, but nothing above that base version — the rarer builds are schematic-only. One schematic grants the recipe, and they are world loot — chests, boss Pals and the late-game pools — rather than anything you research. Higher-rarity copies of the same schematic raise the quality of what you end up crafting.
Fastest route. Two routes to the top-tier Cloth Outfit schematic, and they are not measured in the same thing: about 33 kills hunting it directly from chillet (alpha), or roughly 173 containers farming the 3★ copy from treasure map digs (tier 1) and fusing five. Which is faster depends on how long one of each takes you. Schematics fuse five-to-one, so a lower tier with better odds can beat the top tier outright. Counts are containers of that source, not time.
| Schematic | Rarity | Where it comes from |
|---|---|---|
| 4★ | Treasure map digs (tier 1), fishing in Grasslands, Grasslands chests — best 0.8% (grade 1/2/5) · Chillet (3%) |
Alternatives and Upgrades
Step up from here and you get Tundra Outfit at 25 defense; step down and it is Cloth Outfit at 22. The size of that step is what decides whether the crafting bill is justified yet.
