Tocotoco Cap

Armor · ArmorHead4

Tocotoco Cap is 68th of 202 head pieces by defense, at 80 against the 650 of Ancient Helm.

Wearing it also carries the effect Neutral Damage Reduction Lv. 1, which matters more than the raw numbers in the biomes that punish you for the wrong outfit.

This is where the crafting chain ends — nothing downstream consumes it, so a stockpile earns you nothing.

Where to Find Tocotoco Cap

Tocotoco Cap is not something you find lying around — you craft it, and the recipe is below.

Using Tocotoco Cap Well

Equipping the cap turns on a hidden passive, Element Resist Normal 1, that shaves 15% off every point of Neutral damage aimed at you. It is always on — no trigger, no condition, no cooldown — so it stacks with whatever the rest of your kit is doing. Neutral is the element most human raiders and the Syndicate's guns deal in, which makes a hat that looks like a joke a genuine pick for base defence.

That resist is Lv. 1 on every rarity of the cap, from the plain white version up to this Legendary one. Climbing the tiers buys raw defence, HP and durability only; the damage cut never grows. If you are wearing it purely for the Neutral resist and not for the armour value, a cheap low-rarity cap does the same job for a fraction of the feathers.

Each rarity is gated behind its own schematic, and the bench builds whichever one you are holding — owning the Legendary schematic is what puts the 22-feather version in the crafting list. Picking up a lower-tier schematic later does not downgrade or overwrite it, but it will not upgrade a cap you have already made either. Caps are crafted at the rarity they were built at and stay there.

22 Tocotoco Feather is a real farm. Tocotoco drops exactly one per kill and only half the time, so budget for roughly 44 of them, and they are fragile enough that a Fire or Electric mount clears a flock quickly. If you would rather pay than hunt, the Caravan Shop stocks the feather at 500 Gold each — about 11,000 Gold for a full cap.

The craft itself is 160,000 work, sixteen times what the common version asks for. Load the bench and hand it to your best Handiwork Pals rather than holding the button down yourself.

Every Tier of Tocotoco Cap

The same piece exists at 5 rarities, and the gap is not cosmetic: defense runs 20 to 80, a 4x swing. Which one you end up with is decided by the rarity of the schematic you built from, not by the recipe — so a legendary copy of this is worth more than the next item up built from a common one.

What Tocotoco Cap Does

Tocotoco Cap grants Neutral Damage Reduction Lv. 1: Element Resist Normal +15.

Schematics That Unlock Tocotoco Cap

Tocotoco Cap is not learned from the Technology tree — you need a schematic for it. One schematic grants the recipe, and they are world loot — chests, boss Pals and the late-game pools — rather than anything you research. Higher-rarity copies of the same schematic raise the quality of what you end up crafting.

Alternatives and Upgrades

Penking Cap matches it exactly at 80 defense — those two differ in what they resist and what they weigh, not in raw defense, so picking between them is a swap rather than an upgrade. The next real step is Monarch's Crown at 90; below it is Witch Hat at 80.
