Neutral Support Whistle
Accessory2★Equipment giving a small boost to the Neutral damage of the Pal fighting at your side.
Wearing it also carries the effect Pal Neutral Damage Enhancement Lv. 3, which matters more than the raw numbers in the biomes that punish you for the wrong outfit.
This is where the crafting chain ends — nothing downstream consumes it, so a stockpile earns you nothing.
Details
It does not stack, so every spare copy costs an inventory slot. At 14,580 gold it is worth real money to a merchant.
Neutral Support Whistle Crafting Recipe
Crafting it takes 57 materials across 4 types.
Where to Find Neutral Support Whistle
The recipe is not on the Technology tree — it is locked behind a schematic you have to find first. The best single source is treasure chests in the Feybreak at 3.4% per container, and the table below lists every tier and where each one drops.
No technology level unlocks the recipe — it is gated behind Neutral Support Whistle Schematic. That schematic only rolls out of grade 5 containers: roughly a 3.4% share in Feybreak Cavern treasure chests, 1.2% from crates on the oil rigs, and 0.2% from ordinary Feybreak chests, which makes the cavern chests the run worth repeating.
A hack terminal — the puzzle building added with the Tides of Terraria update — pays out the same schematic bundled with 20 Dog Coin, so clearing one skips the chest gamble entirely.
Using Neutral Support Whistle Well
The accessory grants Element Boost (Neutral) Lv. 3, which is worth +18% Neutral damage. It is an Otomo-only effect: the bonus lands on the Pal fighting at your side and does nothing for your own weapons.
Neutral Support Whistle +1 and Neutral Support Whistle +2 carry the identical Lv. 3 passive, so pushing a whistle to +1 or +2 does not raise the Neutral damage bonus above +18%.
Each craft costs 30,000 work, far more than the material bill suggests, so queue it on a bench staffed by high-Handiwork Pals rather than hand-crafting it.
The +18% is locked to the Neutral element, so a Pal whose attacks are Fire, Water or anything else gets nothing at all from the slot. Reserve it for a Neutral attacker; for other elements, swap to the matching whistle in the same family.
What Neutral Support Whistle Does
Neutral Support Whistle grants Pal Neutral Damage Enhancement Lv. 3: Neutral damage +18.
Those figures apply to the Pal out of its sphere and fighting beside you, not to your own character — the item does nothing while your team is in storage.
Schematics That Unlock Neutral Support Whistle
Neutral Support Whistle is not learned from the Technology tree — you need a schematic for it. One schematic grants the recipe, and they are world loot — chests, boss Pals and the late-game pools — rather than anything you research. Higher-rarity copies of the same schematic raise the quality of what you end up crafting.
Fastest route. The top-tier Neutral Support Whistle schematic is worth hunting directly — treasure chests in the Feybreak is its best source, at roughly 29 containers a copy. Schematics fuse five-to-one, so a lower tier with better odds can beat the top tier outright. Counts are containers of that source, not time.
| Schematic | Rarity | Where it comes from |
|---|---|---|
| 2★ | Feybreak treasure chests, Crates on the oil rigs, Feybreak chests — best 3.4% (grade 5) |
