Depresso Effigy
Essential2★One of the strange Pal effigies found all over the Palpagos Islands. Offering them at a certain statue raises your own abilities.
Depresso Effigy is a item you pick up rather than build.

Where to Find Depresso Effigy
Thirty are placed across the world, every one of them on the main island, and the full ladder only costs 20 — ten can be walked past with nothing lost. Switch on the Pal Effigies layer on the interactive map and pick them up on routes you were already running; unlike the four-piece tracks there is no missable rank here.
Using Depresso Effigy Well
The in-game text never names the ability these buy, so here it is: Depresso Effigies pay into the Status Ailment Resist ladder and no other. It is 20 ranks at one effigy per rank, finishing at 50% resistance — that figure is the chance of an ailment landing on you at all, not how hard one already ticking hits, so a maxed ladder is a coin flip on every proc rather than a shorter burn.
Offering happens at a Statue of Power, and the effigies are species-locked once you are standing there — a stack of these does nothing for capture power, and Lifmunk Effigies do nothing for status resistance. The church landmarks have statues standing already, but the buildable one arrives on the Technology tree at level 9 for 2 points, which is early enough that most players never need to travel to hand in.
Worth more than it sounds, because of what it blocks. Burn is the ailment you eat most often — every Fire move and a lot of Dragon moves carry it — and Electrify is the other one that decides fights outright, so this ladder is really a tower-and-dungeon investment. Anything you survive on stamina and repositioning is where halving the proc rate shows up. Ranks are per-player on co-op servers, and any track resets for one gold coin, so a wrongly-fed ladder costs you the relics, not the run. Full track-by-track numbers are in the effigy upgrade guide.
