Where to Find Herbil Effigy
All 30 are on Sakurajima. Not concentrated there — placed there and nowhere else, with none on the starter island, none in the World Tree and none on Feybreak, so glider speed is a track you cannot start until you have sailed to Sakurajima. Because the ladder only wants 20, ten of the 30 can be skipped outright with no loss to the maxed bonus.
Grouped by the fast-travel stone you would warp to, the 30 break down as seven around Sakurajima - Mushroom Wetlands, five near Cherry Blossom Crossroads, four each by Isle of Murmurs and Moonflower Tower Entrance, three each around Sakurajima - Southern Sandbar and Sakurajima: West Coast, and two each at Sakurajima - Northern Rock Field and Secluded Cemetery. Those first four stones alone hold exactly the 20 you need, so the whole track can be finished from four warps. Shortest approaches: about 55 m from Northern Rock Field, 84 m from West Coast, then 96 m and 98 m from Moonflower Tower Entrance and 112 m from Mushroom Wetlands.
Using Herbil Effigy Well
The item text refuses to name the ability, so here it is: Herbil Effigies feed the glider speed ladder and nothing else. Offer them at a Statue of Power — one already stands at each ruined-church landmark, and the buildable version unlocks on the Technology tree at level 9 for 2 points so you can keep one at home — for 20 ranks at a flat one effigy per rank, +1.5% each, topping out at +30% glide speed. Effigy species are locked to their own track at the statue: a stack of these does nothing for capture power, and Lifmunk Effigies do nothing for your glider. Picking the wrong ladder costs almost nothing to undo, since any track resets for a single gold coin.
Unlike the cliff-stacked effigy sets elsewhere, this one is a ground route — 22 of the 30 sit at or below sea level and the highest in the set is only about 51 m up, near Moonflower Tower Entrance. A mount that runs is worth more here than a mount that flies, and the pickups near Isle of Murmurs and Southern Sandbar are shoreline finds rather than climbs. Switch on the Pal Effigies layer on the interactive map and clear them while you are on the island for the Moonflower tower or a base run. The bonus is per-player on co-op servers, so each member collects their own 20.
+30% is the smallest cap of any 20-relic track — swim and climb both pay +100% for the same 20 — but it applies to a movement mode you hold for minutes at a time, so it stacks well with a late glider upgrade on long descents. The pairing is a joke the developers only half hid: the glide upgrade is carved as Herbil, a Pal whose whole silhouette is a glide. See the effigy track guide for which of the thirteen ladders every other species feeds.
