No recipe takes it as an ingredient. Whatever you build is the finished article, so there is no reason to hoard spares.

Where to Find Vaelet Ring
The recipe is not on the Technology tree — it is locked behind a schematic you have to find first. The best single source is treasure chests in the Sunreach Isle at 2.4% per container, and the table below lists every tier and where each one drops.
The schematic rolls from three grade-5 pools and the spread is wide: about 2.38% from the treasure chests down in the Sunreach Skies caverns, 0.98% from the crates on the large oil rig, and 0.19% from ordinary Sunreach Isle surface chests. That is roughly 42 cavern chests, 102 rig crates or 524 field chests per copy — the caverns are the only route worth a dedicated trip, and the surface chests on the same island are twelve times worse than the caverns underneath them.
There is also a single placed pickup out on the islands that hands the schematic over with no roll, bundled with 45 Dog Coin. It does not respawn, so clear it before committing to any chest farming.
Using Vaelet Ring Well
The two halves are rank 4 of their ladders and resolve to 35% of incoming Ground damage cut and 20% more Grass damage dealt. They are not wired alike: the Grass boost carries the partner-only tag, so it pays nothing whenever you have no Pal deployed, while the Ground resistance is an always-on entry that protects the wearer. Solo, this is a 35% Ground shield and nothing else.
Against Ground attackers it beats the dedicated option outright. Ring of Ground Resistance and its +1 step both run Ground Damage Reduction Lv. 3 — 30% — where this ring runs Lv. 4 at 35%, on the same weight of 2. If you own the schematic there is no fight in which the plain resistance ring is the better slot.
No technology unlocks this. The recipe stays greyed out until a Vaelet Ring Schematic is in your inventory, and it has to stay there — the schematic is the key rather than a consumable, so do not sell it after the ring is built. One copy keeps the recipe open forever, which makes a second ring merchant fodder.
The schematic text names the Production Assembly Line, but the whole workshop family takes the recipe — Line II, the Advanced Workshop and the Ancient Workbench all accept it, each faster than the rung below, so queue it on the best station your base already runs. At 150,000 work it is a long job, and the 5 Ancient Civilization Parts are the real gate — the seeds and the 20 Refined Ingot are the trivial half of the bill.
There is no rank-2 successor in the data — unlike the Fire line, the Vaelet Ring is the entire Grass partner-ring family, so there is nothing further up to hoard Ancient Civilization Parts for.

Those figures apply to the Pal out of its sphere and fighting beside you, not to your own character — the item does nothing while your team is in storage.
Schematics That Unlock Vaelet Ring
Vaelet Ring is not learned from the Technology tree — you need a schematic for it. One schematic grants the recipe, and they are world loot — chests, boss Pals and the late-game pools — rather than anything you research. Higher-rarity copies of the same schematic raise the quality of what you end up crafting.
Fastest route. The top-tier Vaelet Ring schematic is worth hunting directly — treasure chests in the Sunreach Isle is its best source, at roughly 42 containers a copy. Schematics fuse five-to-one, so a lower tier with better odds can beat the top tier outright. Counts are containers of that source, not time.
