Heat-Resistant Ancient Armor
Armor · ArmorBody4★Ancient Armor refined further, its heat resistance raised by ancient technology until it can ride out scorching environments.
Heat-Resistant Ancient Armor is among the best body armours by defense — 2nd of 145, at 1,092 against the 1,092 of Cold-Resistant Ancient Armor.
Wearing it also carries the effects Cold Resistance Lv. 2, Heat Resistance Lv. 3, Fire Damage Reduction Lv. 1, Attack Up (S) Lv. 4, which matters more than the raw numbers in the biomes that punish you for the wrong outfit.
Nothing is crafted from it — it is an end product, so anything you make is meant to be used rather than banked as a component.

At 40 weight each it eats carry capacity fast, so bring a mount or park a chest nearby. At 4,389,460 gold it is worth real money to a merchant.
Heat-Resistant Ancient Armor Crafting Recipe
Crafting it takes 91 materials across 4 types, and the bottleneck is almost always the 60× requirement — line that up first and the rest follows.
Where to Find Heat-Resistant Ancient Armor
The recipe is not on the Technology tree — it is locked behind a schematic you have to find first. The best single source is fishing in the World Tree at 0.8% per container, and the table below lists every tier and where each one drops.
Using Heat-Resistant Ancient Armor Well
Put numbers on the two passives that have them: the Fire line is a flat 15% cut to incoming Fire damage, and the attack line is worth +12 Shot Attack. Only that attack line moves as you climb the rarity ladder — the three resistances are byte-identical on every rung, and the tech-tree Heat-Resistant Ancient Armor carries no attack bonus at all. So the case for chasing the Legendary schematic over a cheaper copy is defence, durability and twelve points of gun damage, never a hotter temperature grade.
Handcrafting is disabled and no ordinary bench will list it. The recipe appears at the Ancient Workbench alone, and only while Heat-Resistant Ancient Armor Schematic 4 is in your inventory. Plan the labour, not just the ore: this rank carries 32 times the crafting work of the tech-tree copy and twice that of the Epic one, so a single unbuffed Pal will chew on it for an extremely long shift. Load the bench with Handiwork before you queue it.
Heat Lv. 3 is the ceiling — the game defines no fourth heat grade — so nothing you wear, ride or swallow will push your heat protection higher than this chest piece already does. The Cold Lv. 2 alongside it is the same cold coverage the plain Ancient Armor gives, which means one piece handles volcanic ground and ordinary freezing nights without a swap; you would only change out for the coldest zones.
Against its mirror, Cold-Resistant Ancient Armor, the defensive numbers are a dead heat — 1,092 defence, 3,120 HP, 40 weight, 100,000 durability on both — with the temperature grades flipped and Ice mitigation in place of Fire. The build cost is not tied, though. Both want 60 Paloxite Ingot, 10 AI Core and 9 Ancient Civilization Parts, but this one closes with 12 Thermal Core while the cold version demands 100 Cryogenic Coolant. If you are equipping for both extremes, the heat half of the set is by far the cheaper one to finish.
It also frees your accessory slots. Heat Lv. 3 is the whole payload of Heat Resistant Undershirt, so pairing that with this armour buys exactly nothing, and Reptyro Charm is half-wasted for the same reason — only its Fire line still earns its slot, lifting your mitigation from Lv. 1 to Lv. 4. Worth knowing before you compare it with Heat Resistant Hexolite Armor: that armour carries an identical resistance trio, so the choice between the two lines is settled purely on defence, HP and durability.
Every Tier of Heat-Resistant Ancient Armor
The same piece exists at 5 rarities, and the gap is not cosmetic: defense runs 840 to 1092, a 1.3x swing. Which one you end up with is decided by the rarity of the schematic you built from, not by the recipe — so a legendary copy of this is worth more than the next item up built from a common one.
| Rarity | Item | Defense | HP | Durability |

Schematics That Unlock Heat-Resistant Ancient Armor
The Technology tree hands you the plain Heat-Resistant Ancient Armor at level 75 for 5 Technology points, but nothing above that base version — the rarer builds are schematic-only. One schematic grants the recipe, and they are world loot — chests, boss Pals and the late-game pools — rather than anything you research. Higher-rarity copies of the same schematic raise the quality of what you end up crafting.
Fastest route. The fastest route is fishing in the World Tree, and the reason is the ladder rather than the top rung: that pool stocks every tier, so the common copies it hands you fuse upward into the one you want. Counting them, a top-tier Heat-Resistant Ancient Armor schematic works out at roughly 54 containers against the 119 the 4★ drop rate alone suggests. Spare low tiers are progress, not clutter. Schematics fuse five-to-one, so a lower tier with better odds can beat the top tier outright. Counts are containers of that source, not time.
| Schematic | Rarity | Where it comes from |

Alternatives and Upgrades
Cold-Resistant Ancient Armor matches it exactly at 1,092 defense — those two differ in what they resist and what they weigh, not in raw defense, so picking between them is a swap rather than an upgrade. Nothing above it is meaningfully stronger, so this is effectively the top of the class — below it is Lightweight Ancient Armor at 1,092.
