Palworld 1.0.2.100993 Patch Notes: PC Mod Stability Hotfix
Palworld 1.0.2.100993 is a PC-only hotfix from July 30, 2026 that steadies the game when you play with mods, without breaking crossplay. Here is what changed, who needs it, how to install it, and how to re-test your mod list afterwards.
Palworld 1.0.2.100993 is a small PC-only hotfix that landed the day after the 1.0.2 update, and its whole job is keeping the game stable when you run mods. This page covers what the notes actually say, who needs it, whether it splits crossplay lobbies, how to force the download, and the mod re-test routine worth running once it is installed.
Palworld 1.0.2.100993 Release Date and Platforms
The build went out on July 30, 2026, and only on PC — Steam and the PC version on Game Pass. Console players get nothing here and need nothing, because the change is about how the game handles modded installs, and modding is a PC-only activity in the first place. It is a build number on top of 1.0.2 rather than a new version, so nothing about your save, your stats or your unlocks moves.

Everything in the 1.0.2.100993 Patch Notes
There is exactly one change, filed under mod support: internal processing was adjusted so the game holds together better when mods are loaded. The other two lines are not changes at all, they are reassurances — the patch is limited to PC, and it does not hurt crossplay with players on other versions. Pocketpair did not name specific mods, crash types or file formats, so there is no list of "this mod now works" to check against. Read it as the game becoming more tolerant of mods in general, not as official support for any one of them.
| Line in the notes | What it means for you |
|---|---|
| Processing adjusted to improve stability with mods | Fewer crashes and oddities on modded PC installs — the only real change in the build |
| PC version only | Steam and PC Game Pass download it; PS5 and Xbox consoles stay on 1.0.2 |
| No negative effect on crossplay | Patched PC players and unpatched console players still share sessions and servers |
What 1.0.2.100993 Means If You Play With Mods
The honest read is that this build lowers the odds of a mod taking the game down, but it cannot tell you which of your mods were the problem — and any patch that touches processing can also change how an existing mod behaves. That makes this the right moment to do the clean re-test that our Palworld mods guide recommends after every update: pull everything, launch vanilla once, then add mods back one at a time with a launch between each. It is tedious, but it is the only way to find out whether a mod that was crashing is now fine, or a mod that was fine now needs an update from its author.
How much work that is depends on the kind of mod. Drop-in `.pak` mods take seconds to remove and restore. Mods that replace `Engine.ini` or `UserOptions.sav` are only safe to swap if you kept the original files. Script mods running through the UE4SS injector are the most likely to break on any patch, because they hook into the running game rather than just replacing assets — so re-test the injector on its own before you hang anything off it.
| Mod type | Where it lives | What to do after this hotfix |
|---|---|---|
| `.pak` mods (visual overhauls, model swaps) | `Palworld\Pal\Content\Paks\~mods` | Move the `~mods` folder out, launch once, then return files one at a time |
| `Engine.ini` mods (ray tracing, stutter fixes) | `%LOCALAPPDATA%\Pal\Saved\Config\Windows` | Restore your backup `Engine.ini`, confirm the game is stable, then reapply — and only one `Engine.ini` mod at a time |
| `UserOptions.sav` mods (FOV changers) | `%LOCALAPPDATA%\Pal\Saved\SaveGames` | Low risk, but keep the original file so you can undo it |
| UE4SS script mods (minimap, HUD counters) | `Palworld\Pal\Binaries\Win64` | Launch with the injector alone first; if that crashes, wait for an injector update before blaming individual mods |
Does 1.0.2.100993 Break Crossplay?
No, and that is the one worry this patch goes out of its way to rule out. Normally a PC-only build number is exactly what causes a lobby split — one side patches, the other does not, and nobody can join anyone. Here the notes state outright that crossplay is not affected, so a patched Steam player can still host a PS5 friend on 1.0.2, and the reverse works too. The platform-by-platform picture is below, and the wider rules for sessions and servers are in our Palworld multiplayer guide.
| Platform | Gets 1.0.2.100993? | Can still play with the others? |
|---|---|---|
| Steam (PC) | Yes | Yes |
| PC Game Pass | Yes | Yes |
| PlayStation 5 | No — stays on 1.0.2 | Yes |
| Xbox Series X|S / Xbox One | No — stays on 1.0.2 | Yes |
One caveat for groups: crossplay working does not mean mods are shared. Most mods are purely local — your visuals, your HUD, your character model — and other players never see them. If someone in your session is crashing and you are not, their mod list is the first place to look, not the patch.
The Same-Day Follow-Up: 1.0.2.101103
Later the same day a second hotfix, 1.0.2.101103, went out to fix something far more painful: in some cases, beating Zenara and Astralym, the World Tree boss, dropped you into a loading screen that never ended. That is the last story fight in the game, so getting stuck there meant your ending never played. It shipped on Steam first, with the other platforms following once their builds were ready.
Practically, if you are on Steam and updating now, you pull both fixes at once and do not need to think about the order. If you parked a world right before the final fight because of the loading bug, it is safe to go back — the attack patterns, team and gear for that fight are in our Zenara and Astralym boss guide.
Where 1.0.2.100993 Sits in the 1.0 Update Run
The 1.0.2 cycle was a run of three builds in two days: the main repair patch, then two narrow hotfixes on top of it. None of the three touched a stat, a drop or a recipe — the first real balance pass did not arrive until 1.0.3 two weeks later. So if you are reading an older guide and wondering whether 1.0.2.100993 changed anything you planned around, it did not.
| Version | Released | Platforms | What it was |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1.0.2 | July 29, 2026 | All platforms | Stability: Panthalus server disconnects and crashes, a vanishing tower boss, two stuck achievements — full 1.0.2 patch notes |
| 1.0.2.100993 | July 30, 2026 | PC only | Mod stability; crossplay unaffected |
| 1.0.2.101103 | July 30, 2026 | Steam first, others after | Infinite loading after beating the World Tree boss |
| 1.0.3 | August 12, 2026 | All platforms | First balance pass — Jetragon's tech unlock drops to level 70 — full 1.0.3 patch notes |

How to Install Palworld 1.0.2.100993
Both PC storefronts will apply the hotfix on their own, but both are also happy to leave it queued for hours. If you are about to test mods, you want the new build in place first — otherwise you are re-testing against the version the fix was meant to replace.
Steam
Open your library and select Palworld. If an update is waiting, the play button is replaced by an update button — press it to start the download now instead of waiting for Steam's scheduled slot. To control this in future, right-click the game, open its properties, and pick the auto-update behaviour you want on the updates tab.
PC Game Pass
If the Palworld page in the Xbox app shows no update button, the check simply has not run. Open the game's management options from the three-dot menu, go to its files section and run a manual update check — anything pending downloads from there. Auto-updates for Game Pass titles are switched on or off from the install options in the app's installation queue.
Dedicated Servers
The notes only describe the PC game client, so this is not a build you chase on your server. If your group does hit a version mismatch around a patch, it is almost always the server lagging behind the clients — the update commands for Windows and Linux are in our Palworld server update guide.
Should You Update Right Away?
Yes. If you run mods, this is the build you want to be testing them on, and if you do not, it costs you nothing — no balance changes, no new requirements, and your console friends can still join. Back up your saves, install it alongside the 1.0.2.101103 fix, and if you mod, re-add your mods one at a time so you know exactly which ones survived.
